With the acceleration of information technology and the rise of new media technology,new media resources not only provide convenience for teachers and students,but also better achieve teaching objectives and help students further implement their core geographic literacy.This article analyzes the integration of new media and geography by consulting relevant literature and using knowledge graph method.It is found that there are problems in the key aspects of research on the relationship between new media resources and high school geography teaching,as well as the cultivation of students’ autonomous learning ability,such as training approaches,specific implementation,and practical applications.Based on this,the study used a questionnaire survey method to analyze the current application status of new media resources in high school geography teaching,and sorted and classified the types and characteristics of high school geography new media resources.Guided by theories such as constructivism,autonomous learning,and informal learning,we aim to construct an application model of new media resources in high school geography teaching,and conduct empirical research to apply this model to practical activities in high school geography teaching.The main research findings are as follows:(1)The results of a questionnaire survey of 400 students and an interview survey of 15 teachers indicate that the current content of new media resources is extensive and the quality is uneven,which has a significant impact on teachers and students;The limited ability of geography teachers to apply new media and the poor self-control of students when using new media resources have affected the quality and effectiveness of new media resources in geography teaching.(2)To address the above issues,we will construct a model for the application of new media resources in high school geography teaching.Systematically sorted out the application ways of We Chat videos,websites and We Chat official account before,in and after class,and then put forward the principles and strategies of construction,designed a new media resource teaching mode applied to geography teaching in high school,integrated it into the teaching implementation,wrote goals and teaching programs that are consistent with core literacy,and provided usable texts and processes for practice.(3)A case study of Ocean Current to conduct empirical research.In the form of an experimental class and a control class,the experimental class uses new media resources combined with educational plans for teaching,while the control class uses traditional teaching.After the teaching experiment,it was found that the average score of the experimental class(75.3 points)is higher than the average score of the control class(69.97 points);The completion of the education plan and classroom observations indicate that the classroom atmosphere in the experimental class is more active,students’ interests are more intense,and the key and difficult points of teaching are better mastered;After class interviews with teachers and students showed that new media resources can stimulate learning interest,promote classroom teaching,and better implement students’ core geographical literacy.The research results provide new media resources to assist high school geography teachers in their teaching activities,in order to enhance students’ core geographic literacy.
