The Language Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)states that cultural confidence is one of the connotations of core language literacy,aiming to make students love Chinese culture,inherit and carry forward the excellent Chinese traditional culture through language learning.Chinese culture has a long history,and the splendid Chinese culture consists of common parts of various local cultures.The protection and inheritance of Chinese culture should start from local culture,which is the most primitive root in everyone’s heart,and only when local culture is protected and inherited can students recognize local cultural characteristics and establish cultural confidence from the root.Zhoukou City,which belongs to Henan Province,contains many cultural resources with rich connotations and great value for language education.As language is the subject that middle school students have the most contact with culture,developing and utilizing Zhoukou’s local culture as language curriculum resources in language teaching can not only enrich the content of language education and expand students’ language learning activities,but also the research on the development and utilization of Zhoukou’s local cultural resources is the best way to protect and inherit local culture,love Chinese culture,and help students establish cultural self-confidence.The thesis contains three parts: introduction,body and conclusion.The introduction mainly clarifies the research background of the topic,the current status of the research,the purpose of the research,the significance of the research and the research method.In the second chapter,the authors use questionnaires to investigate the current situation of the development and utilization of Zhoukou’s local cultural resources in middle school language teaching,and make statistics on the results of the questionnaires to draw conclusions based on the data.Chapter 3 is a detailed analysis of the significance and value of the development and utilization of Zhoukou’s local cultural resources.The significance of its development and utilization is mainly discussed in three aspects: helping students build cultural confidence,enriching the content and structure of language learning,and strengthening the connection between language learning and life.The values of its development and utilization are mainly four aspects: the value of language education and teaching,the value of local culture transmission,the value of teachers’ professional development,and the value of students’ overall development.Chapter 4 explores the principles and strategies for the development and utilization of Zhoukou local cultural resources.The first section is about the principles for the development and utilization of Zhoukou culture,mainly the principles of practicability,subject diversification,step-by-step principle and separation of priorities;the second section is about the strategies for the development and utilization of Zhoukou local cultural resources,discussing four strategies from strengthening the study of curriculum resource development theory,solving the problems of curriculum resource development and the diverse integration of Zhoukou culture and language curriculum.Chapter 5 focuses on the implementation and use of Zhoukou local cultural resources in middle school language teaching,which is developed from three aspects:the use of Zhoukou local culture in language reading teaching,writing teaching,and integrated learning activities.
