In recent years, the incidence of problem behaviors among junior high school students has been increasing, which has become a research hotspot.Problem behavior is not only an early symptom of various psychological and behavioral disorders of junior high school students, but also may have adverse effects on their social adaptation and mental health, and even lead to crime.Among the factors that influence problem behaviors, the discussion of the factor of parental neglect is neglected.Parental neglect refers to the fact that parents fail to fulfill their responsibilities and obligations to take care of their children in the process of raising their children, and neglect their children’s basic psychological needs in terms of emotion, education and life for a long time, thereby damaging their physical and mental development.Studies have shown that the incidence of neglect among middle school students in my country ranges from 25.67% to 50%,and individuals who suffer from neglect have more social withdrawal, unwelcome behaviors and more serious internalized problem behaviors than those who suffer from other types of abuse. Therefore, this study will explore the influence mechanism of parental neglect and problem behaviors of junior high school students, and find effective measures to prevent and intervene problem behaviors of junior high school students. This study conducted a cross-sectional survey on 570 junior high school students using the Adolescent Self-Assessment Questionnaire,Perceived Teacher Care Questionnaire,Personal Growth Initiative Questionnaire and Parental Neglect Questionnaire. The results showed that parental neglect significantly positively predicted internal and external problem behaviors, and personal growth initiative Sex played a partial mediating role between parental neglect and internalizing and externalizing problem behaviors, and perceived teacher care had a moderating effect between parental neglect and externalizing problem behaviors. These conclusions indicate that parental neglect is an important factor affecting the internal and external problem behavior of junior high school students, and parental neglect does not affect the internal and external problem behavior of junior high school students alone.Junior high school students cared by teachers have less externalized problem behaviors. This result also suggests that parents should try their best to avoid neglecting parenting methods for their children, pay attention to the development of their children’s personal growth initiative, and schools should play a compensatory role in teacher care to improve the problem behaviors of junior high school students,so as to improve the physical and mental health of junior high school students. |
