Research Purpose:This paper investigates female college students’ sleep quality and anxiety through the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality(PSQI)and Self-Assessment Scale of Anxiety(SAS),respectively. To investigate the methods and means to effectively improve the sleep quality and anxiety levels of female university students,as well as the correlation between sleep and anxiety, and to provide a theoretical basis for exercise interventions to improve the sleep quality and anxiety of university students. This paper adopts the method of random sampling and randomly selects two classes of non-physical education major students in Nanning Normal University as the research objects. They are divided into the experimental group and the control group, with 35 students in each class.Among them, the experimental class conducts yoga intervention and the control class conducts regular physical education exercises. The experiment lasted for 12 weeks. Before, during and after the experiment, data were collected for the experimental group and the control group respectively. Finally, the collected data were analyzed and processed by SPSS26.0statistical software package to explore its effect on the sleep quality and anxiety of female college students.Research results:1、Subjective sleep quality, sleep disturbance, daytime dysfunction scores and total scores on the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index scale for the study subjects in the experimental group changed over time(P<0.01);sleep disturbance, daytime dysfunction and total score time on the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index scale interacted with grouping(P<0.05),indicating that yoga practice can alleviate female university students’ symptoms at this stage;there was a statistically significant difference(P<0.05)in the comparison of the scores of subjective sleep quality, sleep duration component and total score on the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index scale between the two groups of study subjects.2、The total anxiety scores of the subjects in the experimental group changed over time(P<0.05);the SAS scores showed an interaction between the time of the intervention and the group(P<0.05),indicating that the yoga practice improved the anxiety of the female students;there was a statistically significant difference between the experimental and control groups(P<0.05).3.There is a linear relationship between sleep quality score and anxiety score(r2=0.2249),Pearson correlation coefficient r=0.474,P=0.004,and there is a positive correlation between the two.The higher the score of sleep quality scale, the higher the score of anxiety scale, that is,the worse the sleep, the more prone to anxiety.Conclusion:1、The 12-week yoga practice was effective in improving the sleep quality of female university students, improving the level of subjective sleep quality, sleep duration, sleep disturbance and daytime dysfunction, with no significant effect on time to fall asleep, sleep efficiency and hypnotic drug component scores.2、Twelve weeks of yoga practice effectively reduced female university students’ anxiety levels.3、The higher the score on the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index scale, the higher the score on the self-rating anxiety scale. The two are positively correlated and mutually influenced. |
