At present,China’s urban renewal is changing from the "big renewal" of demolition and construction to the "micro-renewal" of local repair, and at the same time, the state proposes to modernize social governance capacity and shift the center of gravity of social governance to the grassroots level, which demands community governance, and social organizations and community Residents are important participants in community governance. This study focuses on the existing resources and capacity of the community, and the research question is:What is the action strategy of D organizations for community museum creation from the perspective of asset-based community development?Specifically, this paper will focus on how D organizations can guide residents to care about their communities and shape their own community stories in the process of creating community museums. This study is a qualitative case study based on the "asset-based" perspective, using Organization D’s practice of creating H community museums as a case study. The data collection methods used in this study were documentary research and interviews. The documentary research refers to the analysis of public documents, event photos, video materials, exhibition posters, and other documents of Organization D.The interview method used semi-structured interviews, and a total of nine people were selected as interviewees, including members of the working team of Organization D’s H Community Museum, community residents, and the community secretary. This study constructed categories based on the documentation and interview data, coded the themes, and used content analysis for data analysis. The study found that asset inventory and use, thematic narratives to build emotional connections, and cooperative interactions among multiple actors are the action strategies of D organizations to create community museums under the "asset-based" perspective.Firstly, the D organization helped residents understand the community and discover the community’s resources and capabilities through a community asset survey.Secondly, based on the inventory of community assets, the organization focuses on the internal community, and uses thematic exhibitions to create community narratives to help residents view the community from different perspectives, construct self-identity and community identity, and build emotional ties through narratives to drive internal community vitality through emotional ties and resident participation.Again,D organizations identify multiple subjects inside and outside the community and build internal community relationship networks through activities, objects, communities, and informal organizations;and establish cooperative relationships with subjects outside the community through communication and negotiation, benefit exchange, and reaching common goals.Based on this, this study adds to the existing research on community museums and social organizations to promote community creation.Community museums interact with community spirit, focus on the experience and subjectivity of community residents, guide residents to pay attention to the community, participate in the community, establish an emotional connection with the community, and increase residents’ sense of identity and belonging to the community. These have the following implications for social work services:Firstly, social workers try to use an "asset-based" perspective in community work.Secondly, social work services need to pay attention to community building and building community emotional ties in community work;Thirdly, social work can cooperate and dialogue with other disciplines.
