STEAM education philosophy is an integrated educational model based on the integration of disciplines, characterized by contextuality, innovation and diversity. It penetrates the contents of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics into daily teaching to help students build a comprehensive knowledge system, and at the same time stimulate students’ interest in chemistry to improve their comprehensive literacy.Project-based teaching refers to an innovative teaching model that guides students to complete learning tasks through project preparation, project exploration, project evaluation and project result exhibition by creating real problem scenarios. It has a prominent role in improving students’ learning ability, inquiry ability and practical ability. Therefore, this study combines the STEAM education philosophy and project-based teaching mode, and through the project-based teaching means to infiltrate STEAM education philosophy in high school chemistry classroom. On the one hand,it is expected to cultivate students’ interdisciplinary awareness and enhance their autonomous inquiry ability;on the other hand,it is conducive to promoting the renewal of teachers’ teaching methods and improving the efficiency of the classroom. This study adopts the literature research method to review and organize the domestic and foreign literature related to the project-based teaching model and STEAM education concept, defining the relevant concepts. In addition,a survey was conducted to investigate the current status of the project-based teaching model and STEAM education concept in the chemistry classroom of senior high school, and it was found that the students’ interdisciplinary awareness was weak and lacked the ability to apply the chemical knowledge comprehensively, but they had a high interest in exploration learning. Moreover, the STEAM education concept was not well-penetrated in the teaching, which was not conducive to the enhancement of students’ comprehensive quality. Therefore, based on the constructivism learning theory, humanistic learning theory,"learning from doing" theory and multiple intelligence theory,a project-based teaching model integrating STEAM education concept was constructed, and the teaching objectives were determined based on students’ interests. The core is the participation in exploration, and the knowledge in the teaching materials is used to promote the integration of disciplines. The multimedia is used to assist the teaching to add the further integration of disciplines, and the classroom situation is used as the evaluation and implementation strategy of multi-dimensional.The teaching practice contents of "Exploring the Energy Drink of Electrolyte","Exploring the Secret of Iron Supplement" and "Scientific Use of Chlorine Disinfectants" are selected, and the practice is carried out in the senior high school chemistry classroom. After the practice, the case practice effect is evaluated through the classroom observation scale,post-test,interview and questionnaire.Research results showed that the project-based teaching model incorporating STEAM education concept has research value in high school chemistry teaching, and the combination of the two is feasible and effective.According to the comparison analysis of the test scores after class, the average scores of the experimental class and the control class were 44.50 and 41.92 respectively, and the learning effect of the experimental class was obviously higher than that of the control class.According to the questionnaire survey results and interviews of students, the interdisciplinary awareness and independent exploration ability of students have been obviously enhanced, and according to the interviews of the guidance teachers, the classroom efficiency has obviously improved. Therefore, the project-based teaching permeated with STEAM education concept can help to stimulate students’ interest in learning, and improve their overall literacy, thus promoting the all-round development of students.
