With the development of the times,education in various countries tends to be interdisciplinary and comprehensive,and the STEAM education concept formed in line with the times and developed rapidly.The STEAM education concept refers to the interdisciplinary teaching of students by Science,Technology,Engineering,Arts and Mathematics.In chemistry teaching,it is the ultimate goal to promote students' mastery of chemistry knowledge and cultivate the development of students' core literacy of chemistry.Through literature research,it is found that there are many researchers in the journal literature combining the two to conduct research on teaching strategies and teaching design,but few in the master's thesis.Therefore,this study takes the content of "Iron Metal Materials" as an example to conduct chemistry teaching research based on the STEAM education concept,in order to provide suggestions for promoting the development of students' core chemistry literacy.First of all,this paper analyzes the development trend of international education,the requirements of my country's new curriculum reform and new curriculum standards,and the shortcomings of the actual teaching of chemistry in middle schools,and expounds the background of the subject.The paper determines the purpose,meaning,content and method of the research on the basis of literature research.Then,the paper defines the concepts of STEAM education,STEAM education concept,chemistry core literacy,and takes the theory of Learning By Doing Theory,Learning Pyramid Theory,Situational Cognitive Theory and Curriculum Integration Teaching View as the theoretical basis.this paper combines with the teaching status survey and teacher interviews of chemistry classroom based on the STEAM education concept to analyze the problems existing in the current high school chemistry teaching and learning,and combine the characteristics of STEAM education concept to put forward teaching principles,namely the situational principle,the practical principle,the comprehensive principle and the humanistic principle,and construct the teaching Strategy,that is,linking with reality,controlling teaching goals;creating situations,integrating content of various subjects;combining problems,promoting literacy development;migrating and applying,generating learning experiences;focusing on goals,conducting literacy evaluation.Finally,forming a chemistry classroom teaching model based on the STEAM education concept according to teaching strategies.In order to test the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed teaching principles,strategies and models,two parallel classes of Class 2113 and Class 2123 of A Middle School in Beihai City,Guangxi were selected as the research objects,and the experimental class were taught according to the teaching model constructed in this paper.In the research process,students' chemistry core literacy and interests were diagnosed and developed through their classroom activities,and the changes in students' chemistry core literacy,interests,and grades were detected through questionnaires.The research results show that the teaching strategies and models proposed in this topic have a certain role in promoting the development of students' core literacy,improving students' interest and achievement.Due to the short practice time,small experimental scope,and lack of STEAM teaching experience,the teaching strategies and models proposed in this topic need to be further improved,and the research conclusions also need to be further tested.
