A Study On The Strategies Of Learning Readiness Of Older Children From The Perspective Of The Early Childhood Interface

Abstract/Summary:
As a global issue,the EYFS has been the focus of attention in the preschool community,and its importance to individuals and society has become a common recognition worldwide.In December 2021,the Ministry of Education issued the "14th Five-Year Plan of Action for the Development and Improvement of Preschool Education",which states The Ministry of Education(MOE)has issued an Action Plan for the Development and Improvement of Preschool Education in the 14th Five-Year Plan,which states:Promote the scientific interface between kindergarten and elementary school to lay the foundation for children’s subsequent learning and lifelong development.Therefore,the analysis of young children’s readiness for learning based on the perspective of the kindergarten-primary interface is a theoretical reference for children’s sustainable development and the foundation of lifelong learning,In this study,the older children and related groups in three kindergartens in Y city were studied,and the kindergarten teachers and parents were surveyed using literature,questionnaires,interviews,and observations.Through the survey,it was found that the older children still have problems in their readiness for learning:distracted concentration,lack of independence and perseverance,poor three postures,and poor listening skills.The factors behind the above problems can be attributed to the following four aspects:first,children’s own factors such as gender,physical and mental characteristics,motivation and interest in learning;second,family factors such as family’s concept of learning readiness,family learning atmosphere and parent-child relationship;third,kindergarten’s tendency to "primary schooling" and teachers’ professional development level.Therefore,based on the above problems in the process of children’s learning readiness,this study proposes corresponding suggestions for improvement:kindergartens should do a good job of preparing for school and strengthening children’s learning habits,and arrange functional classrooms for children to enrich the curriculum of the EYFS;elementary school should do a good job of adapting to children’s schooling and strengthening students’ learning habits,and improve the diversity of teaching methods to create a good learning environment.Parents should clarify their responsibilities in EYFS and learning preparation and increase their participation in EYFS and learning preparation,and home and school should build a collaborative education community among kindergarten,elementary school and family through joint development of EYFS education plan to adapt to the learning rules of elementary school as soon as possible.
