Along with the social progress, the traditional social structure has been transformed,a large number of women have entered the job market, and the number of dual-earner families has increased dramatically.Dual-income families, where both parents work outside the home, have a reduced amount of energy to spend with and raise their children.Adolescents are at a special stage in their lives when some parent-child conflicts can easily break out. This paper takes eight dual-earner families in H city as the research subjects and understands their basic conditions through interviews. The emotional problems of adolescents are analyzed according to Erikson’s eight-stage theory of personality.Using family system theory as a guide,we conducted 2 group activities for the child system,2group activities for the parent system, and 2 group activities for the parent-child system. The goal of reducing parent-child conflict is achieved through group activities.Using the frequency and intensity of parent-child conflict measured by the Adolescent Parent-Child Conflict Questionnaire. The experiment was carried out on the pre-and post-and t-test in both the intervention and the control groups. The results showed that the control and the intervention groups had the same results. After the group activities, there was variability between the control and intervention groups.Patients in the intervention group had better results compared to those in the control group. The results showed that there were no significant differences between the pre and post test results in intervention group. This indicates that social work interventions for parent-child conflict in dual-earner families are effective. This study complements the lack of research on dual-earner families in the field of social work profession in China.Currently, most of the scholars focus on the topic of left-behind and single-parent children which overlook the relationship between parent and children in two-income family.A few involve the study of parent-child interaction and relationship in dual-earner families with common family structure. What’s more,it provides ideas for dual-earner families to improve parent-child relationships. |
