The "Opinions on Comprehensively Deepening the Reform of the Teaching Team in the New Era" issued by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council states:"By 2035,the majority of teachers will have a sense of well-being in their posts,a sense of achievement in their careers, and a sense of honour in society, and teaching will become an enviable profession".Enhancing the professional well-being of teachers is not only a call for policy, but also a realistic demand for all people’s teachers.Enhancing teachers’professional well-being will not only enable teachers to actively engage in school education, but also effectively improve the quality of education and teaching.Based on previous research on teachers’ professional well-being,the current situation of teachers’ professional well-being in public primary schools in Yongjia County and the influencing factors were investigated.121 valid questionnaires were collected and analysed in depth to obtain the overall level of teachers’ professional well-being in public primary schools in Yongjia County of 3.667(using 5-point Likert Scale),which is between average to relatively happy.Using SPSS software to analyse the questionnaire data,it was found that there were no significant differences in the professional well-being of public primary school teachers in Yongjia County in terms of gender, classroom hours, income, classroom teacher status and geographical location, but there were significant differences in terms of age, teaching experience, education, job title and subject taught.Combined with field interviews, the analysis found that the professional well-being of public primary school teachers in Yongjia County is mainly affected by four issues:work pressure, salary income, title review and social environment, and the analysis of the causes of the existing problems found that:one is the high work pressure of teachers, the other is the low income of teachers, the third is the imperfect title review system, and the fourth is the high social expectations.Based on these findings, suggestions and strategies to improve the professional well-being of public primary school teachers are proposed at three different levels.First,at the individual teacher level, teachers can pursue positive emotions, treat work stress correctly and improve interpersonal communication skills.Secondly,at the public school level, teachers can improve their professionalism, create a good school environment and implement a ’teacher-centred’their professionalism, create a good school environment and implement a ’teacher-centred’management philosophy.Thirdly,at the community level, the salaries of public primary school teachers should be improved, reasonable expectations of the role of teachers should be established, and the teacher title evaluation system should be improved.
