The high stage of primary school is an important turning point,students are about to end primary school life and start junior high school life,physical and psychological rapid development,interpersonal problems began to highlight,common interpersonal problems are: conflict behavior,withdrawal behavior,low social skills,these problems will affect students’ interpersonal skills.Weak interpersonal skills will seriously hinder the social development of students.Educational drama is a teaching method that emphasizes interactivity and participation.Through activities such as role-playing,games,and performances,students are encouraged to learn and develop autonomously while actively participating.This method aims to cultivate students’ expressive abilities,teamwork skills,and creativity.Picture books are rich in interpersonal materials and situations,and their intuitive form and rich content are of great value to the cultivation of students’ interpersonal skills.Based on this,this study takes the picture book of interpersonal communication as the material,integrates the characters,story plots and space environment involved in the picture book into the intervention situation,and create educational drama interventions that align with the principles of physical and cognitive development in upper elementary students,and lead students to spontaneously act out scenarios related to interpersonal communication within a given theme.The aim is to investigate the efficacy of utilizing educational drama interventions to foster the interpersonal skills of upper-level primary school students,and propose relevant educational recommendations based on the findings,The objective is to offer both theoretical and practical insights into the cultivation of interpersonal communication skills and social development among upper elementary students.This research used the educational experiment method,chose 10 elementary school fifth and sixth grade students as the experimental object,and carried on the educational drama intervention activity to them for 8 times.The results of the intervention were evaluated by the methods of students’ self-evaluation,peer evaluation,the scale of interpersonal skills before and after the intervention,interviews with teachers,and observation.The results showed that the interpersonal skills of the participants were significantly improved,The results of paired samples T test support the above conclusion.The results show that the educational drama intervention activities based on picture books can effectively improve the interpersonal skills of primary school students and solve their social confusion.Combined with the above conclusions,this study from the educational drama activity preparation,development,implementation,and assessment of a picture-book-based educational drama program,and presents recommendations for utilizing this approach to enhance the interpersonal skills of upper-level elementary school students.
