Mathematical operation literacy refers to the literacy of solving mathematical problems according to the operation rules on the basis of clarifying the operation objects, which is mainly manifested in understanding the operation objects, mastering the operation rules, exploring the operation ideas, and obtaining the operation results. The requirements of high school for the operation level are significantly higher than those of primary school and junior high school, and the conic curve is the highest chapter for the operation level in high school,It is most suitable as a knowledge carrier to develop students’ mathematical literacy. Therefore, this paper takes the teaching of conic curve as an example to study the mathematical literacy of senior two students. The specific problems to be studied are:1.What is the current situation of mathematical literacy of senior two students?2.What are the factors that affect the conic curve calculation ability of senior two students?3.What are the teaching strategies for developing the mathematical operation literacy of senior two students? The author took 238 senior two students from a high school in Y City as the subjects of investigation, distributed questionnaires to evaluate the achievement of their mathematical literacy, analyzed the obstacles and causes of their conic learning through interviews and other means, and considered and proposed strategies to help students develop their mathematical literacy.Through sorting and analyzing the test papers and interview results, the following research conclusions are obtained:1.From the overall results, the proportion of students above the passing line is relatively high, indicating that most students have passed the overall calculation level, but the degree of dispersion is relatively large. From the achievement rate of the three levels, the vast majority of students have reached Level 1,most students have reached Level 2,and only a small number of students have reached Level 3.Overall,most students have reached the passing line in mathematical calculation,However, there are still a small number of students who have not reached the minimum level of mathematical operations. Most students are at Level 2 in mathematical operations, while a small number of students have strong computational abilities, reaching Level 3.2.Through the analysis of the differences in the classification variables such as gender and class in the level of mathematical literacy of senior two students,it is found that the performance of boys and girls on the whole and at all levels is less different. From the perspective of the total score dimension, boys’ scores on the test paper are better than girls’;The performance difference at different levels is the same. The average score of the test paper of boys is slightly higher than that of girls, but there is no significant difference after testing. In addition, each class performs well in the level of knowledge understanding, the class achievement rate is more than 90%,and the difference between classes is not large, the trend is stable, and there is no significant difference; On the level of knowledge transfer, the class achievement rate fluctuates to a certain extent, but the scores of each class on this level are not significantly different; On the level of knowledge innovation, the achievement rate of each class is low,and there is no significant difference.3.According to the survey and interview results, the main learning obstacles in the development of students’ mathematical literacy are as follows:①students’ weak computing ability;②Students fail to master conventional simplification skills;③Weak ability to apply mathematical thinking methods;④In the process of learning, high vision and low skill;⑤Strong fear of difficulties on conic problems In addition, this paper gives corresponding solutions to these five learning disabilities.
