The Influence Of Parenting Styles On Sexual And Mental Health In Junior High School Students:the Mediating Role Of Parent-child Attachment

In recent years,the sexual assault on minors occurs frequently,and the global attention to the sexual mental health of minors is gradually deepening.Family education,as a lifelong education,has a far-reaching impact on children’s sexual concepts,sexual values,sexual knowledge and so on.And parents,as the first teachers of sexual education,play a vital role in their sexual mental health.The purpose of this study is to analyze the basic status of parenting style,parent-child attachment and sexual mental health of junior middle school students,and to explore the relationship and mediating effect of them.Based on this,some educational suggestions are put forward to improve the level of sexual mental health in junior middle school.In this study,808 junior high school students in City Lianyungang were selected as research objects,and questionnaires were conducted on them by means of "Adolescent Sexual Mental Health Scale","Simplified Egma Minnenav Barndoms uppforstran of China"and "Parent-Child Attachment Scale".This study draws the following conclusions:1.The sexual mental health level and parenting style of junior middle school students are different in the child structure,household registration,growth environment and family economic conditions.And there are differences in parent-child attachment in household registration,growth environment and family economic conditions.2.The sexual and psychological health level,parenting style and parent-child attachment of junior high school students are closely related.(1)There was a significant positive correlation between sexual mental health and maternal attachment,paternal attachment,paternal emotional warmth and maternal emotional warmth.There was a significant negative correlation between sexual mental health and paternal rejection,maternal rejection,paternal overprotection and maternal overprotection.(2)There is a significant negative correlation between maternal attachment and paternal rejection,paternal overprotection,maternal rejection and maternal overprotection.There is a significant positive correlation between mother attachment and father’s emotional warmth and mother’s emotional warmth.(3)There is a significant negative correlation between paternal attachment and paternal rejection,maternal rejection,paternal overprotection and maternal overprotection.There is a significant positive correlation between father attachment and father’s emotional warmth and mother’s emotional warmth.3.The parent-child attachment of junior high school students can be used as the mediating variable of parenting style and sexual mental health.Paternal rejection affects children’s sexual and psychological health through parent-child attachment,and parent-child attachment plays a complete mediating role.Parental emotional warmth,parental overprotection and maternal rejection affect children’s sexual and mental health through parent-child attachment,and parent-child attachment plays a partial mediating role.Therefore,the following suggestions are put forward:adopt more gentle education methods,communicate with their children more,cultivate their children’s independent ability,timely conduct sexual mental health education to their children,learn scientific sexual education methods and set up good moral examples.
