Research On College Students’ Political Identity Under The New Media Environment

Political identity is not only a simple academic problem,but also a social problem widely concerned by the whole society.Improving college students’ political identity is of great significance to improve their political literacy.Today’s world is in the midst of economic globalization and information globalization.The rapid development of science and technology makes the world more closely linked.New media has had a great impact on human life because of its characteristics of "rapidity of communication speed,comprehensiveness of communication content and fragmentation of communication information".College students are in a state of active thinking and easy to accept new things,and their thoughts are easy to be influenced by new media.Therefore,the research on College Students’ political identity in the new media environment has become an important research topic.Analyze and study the political identity of college students in the new media environment,take the Marxist theory as the guidance,and comprehensively use the theoretical knowledge of politics,communication,history and other disciplines.Firstly,it defines the related concepts and characteristics of new media and political identity,and analyzes the current situation of contemporary college students’ political identity combined with the specific characteristics of new media;Secondly,according to the current situation of College Students’ political identity,this paper analyzes the specific reasons for these current situations: the problems highlighted in the diversified background affect the political identity,the characteristics of new media affect the political identity of college students,and the contradiction between new media and ideological and political education also affects the political identity of college students;Finally,it is also the top priority of the article.According to the factors affecting college students’ political identity,this paper puts forward the main ways to improve college students’ political identity under the new media environment: the government should enhance the credibility of the party and the government and create good institutional conditions;Society should optimize the public opinion environment of new media and master the discourse power of mainstream ideology;Schools should strengthen ideological and political education and improve college students’ political cognitive ability.Individuals should also make rational use of the new media platform,play an exemplary and pioneering role,and jointly strengthen college students’ political identity through the joint efforts of the government,society,schools and individuals.
