When youth thrive,the country thrives,and when youth are strong,the country is strong.Youth are the reserve force of the country according to the rule of law,and they are also the important target of the national education on the rule of law.In order to implement the need for schools to educate young people about the rule of law,the high school ideology and politics class in the curriculum objectives proposed to cultivate students’ awareness of the rule of law,in the content of the curriculum to increase a large number of rule of law education content.The teachers play a major role in the teaching process,and it is significant to adapt to the changes in curriculum objectives and contents in order to implement the national education policy,understand the current situation of rule of law literacy of high school ideology and politics teachers and propose ways to improve it in view of their shortcomings.In order to better understand the current situation of rule of law literacy among high school ideology and politics teachers,this paper adopts the research method of practical survey and interview to clarify the basic content and significance of rule of law literacy among high school ideology and politics teachers,and then analyze the results of the survey as a whole to grasp their strengths and weaknesses.After the survey,it is found that high school ideology and politics teachers have good performance in rule of law knowledge,rule of law awareness,rule of law thinking and rule of law education and teaching ability,but at the same time,there are also areas that need further improvement within the above aspects.The reasons for the imperfections are analyzed from both teachers’ own and objective external levels,including: teachers’ insufficient awareness of the necessity of rule of law literacy enhancement,teachers’ lack of initiative in rule of law literacy enhancement,teachers’ insufficient pre-service rule of law knowledge learning,teachers’ unremarkable post-service rule of law training,and schools’ insufficient attention to teachers’ rule of law literacy enhancement.Finally,the performance and causes of teachers’ lack of rule of law literacy are combined with suggestions from both teachers’ own and objective external levels.At the teachers’ own level,they should clarify their responsibilities and missions and enhance their self-awareness;master legal knowledge oriented by practical needs;enhance their awareness of the rule of law by focusing on the use and protection of the law;exercise their thinking on the rule of law by learning from and reflecting on it;and enhance their teaching ability on the rule of law by focusing on concepts and methods.Objective external level: to lead teachers’ rule of law literacy improvement by law curriculum setting;to effectively improve the quality of teachers’ post-service rule of law literacy training;to create a good campus rule of law culture atmosphere;to establish an assessment mechanism for teachers’ rule of law literacy.teachers’ insufficient awareness of the need to improve rule of law literacy;teachers’ lack of initiative to improve rule of law literacy;teachers’ insufficient pre-service rule of law knowledge learning;teachers’ unremarkable post-service rule of law training;and schools’ insufficient attention to teachers’ rule of law literacy improvement.Finally,the performance and reasons of teachers’ lack of rule of law literacy are combined with suggestions from both teachers’ own and objective external aspects.At the teachers’ own level,they should clarify their responsibilities and missions and enhance their self-awareness;master legal knowledge with practical needs;enhance their awareness of the rule of law by focusing on the use and protection of the law;exercise their thinking on the rule of law by learning from and reflecting on the law;and enhance their teaching ability by focusing on concepts and methods.Objective external level: to lead teachers’ rule of law literacy improvement by legal curriculum;to effectively improve the quality of teachers’ post-service rule of law literacy training;to create a good campus rule of law culture;to establish an assessment mechanism for teachers’ rule of law literacy.
