Mathematics is applied in various fields of people’s daily life, and mathematical modeling is an important form of mathematical application.Cultivating students’ mathematical modeling literacy has become an important theme of classroom teaching research. In the context of the new curriculum reform, teachers need to pay attention to cultivating students’ ability to solve problems and improve the application ability of mathematical knowledge. As an important mathematical model, equation is one of the core contents of junior middle school teaching. The modeling of linear equations in two unknowns is the key link from univariate modeling to multivariate modeling. It is also the basis for subsequent learning of linear equations and plane analytical geometry. It is the core content of equations and occupies an important position in the content of junior middle school mathematics curriculum. In recent years, the investigation of linear equations in two unknowns in the middle school entrance examination is mostly based on practical problems.Students are required to establish equations to solve problems, and pay more attention to the application of "system of linear equations in two unknowns" in real life.Due to the strong comprehensiveness of mathematical modeling,it often connects with the knowledge of other disciplines, and needs to organize practical activities. It has high requirements for teachers and students and has certain difficulties,so the teaching effect of mathematical modeling in middle school is general. Therefore, this study selects the content of "system of linear equations in two unknowns" and puts forward teaching strategies based on mathematical modeling literacy, hoping to provide teaching reference for teachers in our school. The author investigated the seventh grade students and mathematics teachers in X Middle School, the Sixth Normal School,in order to understand the students’ mathematical modeling literacy level and the teaching status of teachers’ "system of linear equations in two unknowns".Through the questionnaire survey, the performance level of students’ mathematical modeling literacy is tested. It is found that there are obvious differences in the performance level of students’ mathematical modeling literacy, which is generally at a low level in each performance, students’ information processing ability is weak and lack of mathematical application consciousness;Through the interview method,we can understand the current teaching situation of teachers’ "system of linear equations in two unknowns",and come to the conclusion that teachers still focus on traditional teaching, take more practice and more repetition methods to solve students’ difficulties, and rarely develop students’ mathematical modeling literacy.Based on the survey findings, this paper puts forward the teaching principles and Strategies of "system of linear equations in two unknowns" which are suitable for the research object and focus on mathematical modeling literacy, and makes a teaching practice research on class 2(experimental class)and class 1(control class)of Grade 7.In order to verify the effectiveness of teaching strategies in improving students’ mathematical modeling literacy, the post test paper is compiled.Through the results of the test paper,it is found that the performance level of mathematical modeling literacy of the students in the experimental class is significantly higher than that of the students in the control class. It can be used as a reference for teachers to improve the ability of solving mathematical problems based on the set of equations in the classroom.
