| Education is the foundation for the development of science and technology and the training of talents. It plays a fundamental, leading, and overall role in modernization.Various countries pay more and more attention to education. The curriculum is a concrete manifestation of the blueprint for talent training in schools. It is the main basis for teachers’ teaching, and is the main source of students’ knowledge.Reasonable curriculum setting plays a decisive role in the overall development of students. As the subject of the curriculum, textbooks have a great influence on education. Therefore, the study of textbooks is of great practical significance. In the current focus on core qualities,we should vigorously develop the students’ inquiry capabilities, and the inquiry space will directly affect the teaching of teachers and students’ learning. Therefore, this thesis chose the research space of textbooks. In order to better study the exploration space of textbooks and make the research more persuasive,we have studied the four dimensions of the following comparative studies on the basis of comparative interviews with experts and multiple versions of textbooks. The way in which concepts or propositions are presented, the way in which method steps are summarized, the way in which examples are presented, and the way in which the knowledge structure is combed, and each aspect is characterized from four different levels. For example, for the propositions of the concept or presentation,we proceed from the two perspectives of the presence and absence of ideas and concepts or propositions.Based.on the size of the exploration space left,we performed 0-3 levels of four levels of characterization and division.Further,I chose the widely used and representative PEP and Beijing Normal University textbooks in mainland China, and the Su Ke textbooks used in Jiangsu Province in our region for comparative research. For the Hong Kong region of China, the junior high school mathematics textbook published by Oxford University Press,"New Generation Mathematics(Second Edition)" was selected as the research object.According to the framework for the analysis of inquiry space established,we found that:(1)The Oxford version of the textbook has the lowest level of inquiry, leaving little room for students to explore.(2)The overall exploration space of the People’s Education Press, the Beijing Normal University, and the Su Ke textbooks are similar, but each has its own characteristics.(3)The Oxford version of textbooks emphasizes the combination of basics, multiple numbers, and the use of information technology. On the basis of this research findings, the following recommendations are made on the design of mathematics textbooks for junior middle school:(1)When the textbooks are written, each edition of the textbooks should learn from each other to improve the quality of the textbooks and improve the level of writing.(2)Strengthen the empirical research, carry out surveys and interviews for teachers and students, make textbooks more scientific and reasonable, and promote better development of students.Due to limited time and capabilities, there may be some deficiencies in some areas, and further fine-grained carving is needed, but I believe that it has certain reference value for the comparative study of mathematics textbooks. |
