Currently,students explore core literacy development is a hot research,how to effectively improve student literacy in the actual core of the teaching of teachers is needed to solve the problem.Since unit teaching benefit students thinking,develop core literacy,it is a teaching mode of holistic thinking.In addition,the one-variable linear equation is of great value to lay the students’ mathematical foundation and mathematical thinking.Thence,this paper opens unit teaching design for "one element and one equation" based on the progress of students’ core literacy in mathematics,so as to probe favorable ways for the formation of core literacy in mathematics.First of all,84 questionnaires from teachers were collected using the questionnaire star to understand junior middle school mathematics teachers’ cognition and practice of unit teaching.Then,developing general operating steps for unit teaching,and a series of preliminary work of unit design such as the analysis of teaching elements is carried out.Then combine the core literacy of mathematics with unit teaching to carry out the unit teaching design of "one element linear equation",and implement the design plan in real classroom.Finally,use the test results and teaching fragments to analyze the unit teaching results.The study illustrate that:(1)The current junior middle school mathematics teachers teaching knowledge of the unit is relatively shallow,and some teachers even don’t understand it at all;(2)Although some teachers agree with the effectiveness of unit teaching and the importance of it for the core literacy of mathematics,few actually put it into practice in the classroom,that is,the usage rate is not high;(3)For the experimental class and the control class with equivalent foundation,after some time,the experimental class students overall scored higher than the control classes,that is,the students in the experimental class have a higher level of core mathematics;(4)The experimental class practiced in unit teaching has a more active classroom atmosphere,and students’ overall learning conditions are better;(5)The implementation of unit teaching is conducive to enhancing students’ self-confidence in mathematics and promoting the generation of students’ mathematics core literacy.In short,based on the test results and the teaching process,unit teaching is easier to mobilize students’ participation and activity,and has a positive impact on the formation of students’ core literacy in mathematics.In the follow-up teaching,teachers should try more unit teaching to realize the development of core literacy.
