| As a key part of middle school Chinese textbooks edited by the Ministry of Education,the novel textbook is one of the important carriers for the cultivation of students’ core literacy of Chinese.According to the emphasis in Chinese Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2011 Edition),it is necessary to respect individualized reading behavior,protect students’ interest in reading,and cultivate the students’ ability to read independently as a part of Chinese language teaching.Teachers cannot use their own analysis to replace student reading practice.However,it is commonly found in the classrooms of front-line teaching the practices that go against the aforementioned requirements.Thus,it has become necessary to reflect on the following questions under the pretense of promoting core Chinese literacy,and the requirements of the "double reduction" policy: How can the effectiveness of the novel classroom be retained?What methods can be used to improve the effectiveness of novel teaching in middle school?The effectiveness of the current middle school novel classes will be re-examined from the perspective of teaching effectiveness by background research of relevant theories such as "effective teaching" and " pedagogical efficacy" using both domestic and overseas studies.First,the concept of “effective teaching of novels” in middle schools is defined using relevant theories,including literary form,effective teaching,and psychology.Support for the definition is provided through ideas in cognitive learning and constructivism.Second,the key elements of novel teaching in middle schools are determined by referencing Factors for Implementing Effective Teaching by Chen Dehou and using real examples of novel classes.This is done to ensure the effectiveness of middle school novel teaching.Third,the evaluation criteria on the effectiveness of middle school novel teaching is formulated based on three classroom observational perspectives to make its research more operable,and to provide evidence in determining actual teaching effectiveness.Finally,an effective method is provided on how to implement novel classes in middle schools using the process of novel class design and its implementation to provide feasible reference for actual teaching practice.Using theoretical research and focusing on real classroom practice,a preliminary exploration is carried out on the effectiveness of novel classrooms in middle school from the perspective of core literacy.This research paper seeks to holistically improve on core literacy and provide teachers with effective teaching methods for implementing middle school novel classes. |
