In 2014,China’s new college entrance examination policy was officially implemented,ending the era of "arts and science subjects" in which the college entrance examination can choose one from the other,giving candidates more freedom to choose the college entrance examination subjects.Although the new college entrance examination scheme provides more choices for students,it also puts forward higher requirements on students’ career planning ability.However,for a long time,there has been a lack of career education for primary and secondary school students in China.After the implementation of the new college entrance examination policy,schools face new problems such as weak awareness of students’ career planning and lack of career planning ability.Therefore,strengthening high school career education has become a key link to promote the accurate implementation of the new college entrance examination.At present,the theoretical research on career education in our country is still immature,and the practice of career education in high school lacks systematicness and planning.In this context,this paper takes S high school as an example,and attempts to conduct localized research on high school career education.Based on the inspiration of system management theory,high school career education is an organic which composed of school members(main elements),career education implementation system(process elements)and career security system(environment elements).By investigating the current situation of career education in S high school,combined with the interview results,we deeply analyze the problems and reasons in the management of S high school career education,so as to put forward opinions and suggestions to improve the current situation of S high school career education.This study takes S high school’s teachers and students as the research object.In terms of student,we investigate the career cognitive ability,career orientation level and career adaptation level of S high school students.In terms of teacher,we investigate teachers’ cognition,attitude and ability of career education.In terms of school management,we investigate the content of the school in four aspects: formulating career education plans,providing career education information,providing career education experience and subject career penetration.The study found that the career development level of S high school students’ career is not obvious,not balanced and not sustainable.And S high schools are faced with problems such as poor ability and weak subject consciousness of teacher career education and single form of school career education.The reasons for these problems were further analyzed.In the career implementation system(process elements),the school’s strong examination-oriented education thought leads to the lack of top-level career education planning in school;The fragmented content of school career education leads to the random implementation of middle-level school career education.In the career security system(environmental elements),the vagueness of the main body of school career education leads to the weak organizational construction of school career education;The lack of teacher culture of career education in school leads to the weak campus culture of career education in schools.Based on the analysis of problems and the inspiration of the system management theory,this paper put forward four strategies to optimize the current situation of S high school career education: scientifically formulating school career education goals,building a school-based career education implementation system,design a career education organization with clear rights and responsibilities and create a teacher culture of school career education.
