Chinese teaching for overseas Chinese children belongs to the category of language teaching.Its purpose is to cultivate the ability to communicate and apply Chinese language.Most of the teaching and research objects are international or foreign students and the teaching mode is mostly offline teaching.With the development of computer technology and the concept of “Internet plus”,online teaching is getting better and better.However,the one-to-one online teaching designs for overseas Chinese children still have some shortcomings such as less theoretical basis,low application level,and few successful cases.Based on the “5C” standard theory in the “21st Century Foreign Language Learning Standards”,this dissertation discusses the applications of“5C” standard in one-to-one Chinese language courses for overseas Chinese children by taking overseas Chinese children as the research object and adopting the methods of literature research,practical observation,and case analysis.Based on the author’s one-and-a-half-year teaching practice in Lingo Ace,a case study of American students is carried out.The relevant results provide a reference for the design of Chinese language teaching for overseas Chinese children.This dissertation makes a literature review related to “Chinese teaching for overseas Chinese children”,“one-to-one online Chinese teaching”,“teaching design of Chinese as a foreign language” and “5C” standard.Then it summarizes the shortcomings of one-to-one Chinese teaching for overseas Chinese children by combining with the author’s teaching experience for one and a half years.By analyzing the main connotation of the “5C” standard,it demonstrates the feasibility of applying the “5C” standard in teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages.According to the “5C” standard,this dissertation implements the design and practice of online Chinese teaching for overseas Chinese children by using Lingo Ace as a research platform.In the teaching design part,the design ideas,students’ situation,teaching objectives,teaching principles,teaching materials and texts,and teaching methods are detailedly expounded.In the teaching practice part,the teaching ideas,purposes and contents are shown.Moreover,the application of “5C” standard and the teaching content are introduced.Finally,according to the actual teaching process,this dissertation reflects and summarizes the teaching practice from the four perspectives of teaching design,implementation process,teachers and students.By analyzing a teaching case of Chinese American children,it puts forward reasonable suggestions for the implementation of Chinese teaching design for overseas Chinese children.Therefore,this study is not only a positive exploration of the one-to-one online Chinese teaching,but also accumulated experience for the application of the “5C” standard in teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages.
