Group Work Involves Family Caregivers Of Patients With Schizophrenia Research On Psychological Stress Relief

At present,the number of patients with mental diseases in China is increasing,and schizophrenia as one of the serious mental diseases,the disease recurrence rate is high and the delay in healing,in the rehabilitation process family caregivers become the main body to take care of patients.Under the burden of long-term care,family caregivers bear hardships and psychological pressure unimaginable to ordinary families.This vulnerable group is eager for professional support and help.However,at present,family caregivers have received little attention and limited national policy support.Under the background of national emphasis on mental health and increasing attention paid to mental health,the psychological stress of family caregivers will eventually affect the recovery of patients if not removed.In order to truly and objectively understand the psychological stress of family caregivers with schizophrenia,this paper adopts case study method and sampling survey method to carry out research,and selects family caregivers with schizophrenia in A community of Guangzhou as the research object.Based on the mechanism of psychological stress based on the cognitive interaction theory of psychological stress,semi-structured interviews and self-filled questionnaires were used to collect data on the stressors and stress status of family caregivers.On the basis of the clarification of the factors affecting psychological stress,six stress reduction groups were carried out from two aspects of cognitive evaluation and coping styles,in order to realize the cognitive reconstruction and the improvement of coping ability of family caregivers,and relieve their psychological stress.This study found that social work plays a significant role in alleviating the psychological stress of family caregivers with schizophrenia.Through summarizing and reflecting the experience of group work methods,and putting forward tentative suggestions,it provides practical experience for future in-depth research and social workers’ intervention in family caregivers’ psychological stress.
