According to survey statistics, the number of malignant tumor patients in China is increasing day by day,and China has become a veritable "cancer country".Malignant tumors not only physically afflict the patient, but also bring more serious physical and mental stress to the patient’s family caregiver. However,in medical institutions, doctors, nurses and relatives of patients mostly take the recovery of patients’ health as the main goal and neglect to care for family caregivers. At the same time, social work, which emphasizes self-help,can support them with groups, cases, and community activities to help family caregivers deal with the difficulties they face in hospitals. This study was conducted in Z Hospital of Hubei Province, taking the family caregivers of cancer patients as the service objects, and analyzing the physical, psychological and interpersonal pressures of the family caregivers of cancer patients in the care process through scales, interviews and observations. The results of the analysis show that family caregivers have a need to relax, vent their emotions, and gain relationships.Based on this, the author uses social support theory and cognitive behavior theory as a guide to design and implement group activities to help family caregivers alleviate caregiving pressure. In the early days of the group, the group workers use ice-breaking games to help the group members establish initial acquaintance relationships. In the middle of the group, the group workers intervene in the pressure of the group members from three aspects:physical, psychological and interpersonal. At the end of the group, the family caregivers in the group fully affirm their changes and gains in the activities, and gain the confidence and ability to cope with difficulties. Finally, after the evaluation of the group process and the evaluation of the results,it was shown that the group intervention service was more effective in establishing supporting relationships among group members, guiding self-care and self-physical and mental health, and stress counseling. After the end of the group activities, the group workers reflected on the entire intervention process and summarized the experience and shortcomings of the group, hoping to provide similar services for reference.
