| The traditional division mode of liberal arts and Science in senior high school in China has some problems,such as students’ partial subjects and unreasonable knowledge structure.It is difficult to meet the needs of social and economic development for talent ability and the needs of students’ all-round development.In order to achieve the strategic goal of rejuvenating the country through science and education and strengthening education and cultivate talents with all-round development,in 2014,the State Council and the Ministry of education successively issued the implementation opinions on deepening the reform of examination and enrollment system and the implementation opinions on academic level examination of ordinary high schools,which also marked the official launch of a new round of national unified examination reform of enrollment of ordinary colleges and universities in China(hereinafter referred to as "new college entrance examination").The document clearly stipulates to cancel the division of Arts and Sciences,increase students’ right of choice,and let students choose subjects according to their interests,specialties and the professional requirements of colleges and universities to apply for.The new college entrance examination reform took the lead in pilot work in Shanghai and Zhejiang.Hainan Province,as the second batch of pilot provinces,launched the new college entrance examination reform in 2017.Students’ independent choice of subjects enables them to think about the future professional direction of the University and plan the future career development direction according to their own interests and specialties,which meets the requirements of cultivating students’ independent choice ability and promoting students’ personality development,as well as the requirements of developing students’ comprehensive quality and promoting students’ all-round development.However,the complex system design has exposed some problems in the process of implementation,such as students’ confusion in choice,students’ anxiety in choice,"utilitarian" tendency to choose subjects,difficulties in school guidance in choosing subjects and other difficulties have become increasingly apparent,resulting in irrational examination selection behaviors such as "Tianji horse racing","driving effect" and "shrinkage of science subjects".Therefore,studying the influencing factors of independent subject selection of ordinary high school students can not only help students choose subjects scientifically,but also help schools,teachers and parents better understand the new college entrance examination policy,and formulate relevant countermeasures to effectively guide students’ subject selection.This paper uses the questionnaire survey method,takes the selected subjects of ordinary high school students in Hainan Province as the questionnaire survey object,and investigates the influencing factors of current ordinary high school students’ independent subject selection from four dimensions: personal factors,school factors,family factors and social factors.This paper uses the method of interview,takes the teaching and research staff of Hainan education research and Training Institute and the teachers and students of ordinary high schools as the interview objects to have an in-depth understanding,and further analyzes the difficulties encountered in the process of independent subject selection of ordinary high school students.Based on the existing research and survey data,this paper puts forward countermeasures to solve the dilemma of independent subject selection of ordinary high school students,so as to help schools,teachers and parents further understand the new college entrance examination policy and provide effective guidance for students’ subject selection,so as to realize the scientific subject selection of ordinary high school students.According to the questionnaire data and interview results,ordinary high school students have the following problems in the process of independent subject selection:1 At the individual level,there are some phenomena of high school students’ unclear self cognition and confusion in choosing subjects;2.At the school level,the effect of school career education is poor,the existing educational resources can not meet the selection needs of students,and the recognition of some teachers to the subject selection policy needs to be improved;3.Parents have a weak understanding of subjects and lack of correct influence on students’ choice of subjects at the level of family;4.At the social level,educational values and utilitarian ideas affect students’ choice of subjects.According to the survey results,this paper puts forward optimization suggestions to guide students to choose subjects scientifically from the following six aspects: 1Students must have a correct understanding of themselves;2.Cultivate high school students’ independent choice ability;3.Establish a scientific guidance system for subject selection;4.Guarantee the supporting educational resources for college entrance examination;5.Improve teachers’ ability to guide students to choose subjects;6.Parents should actively respond to the reform of the new college entrance examination;7.Strengthen the publicity of high school students’ independent subject selection. |
