| In recent years,gender confrontation has become a hot topic in the Internet and society,and even triggered a scolding war,which has evolved into a public opinion incident.As a continuation of the high-level mainstream party media on the Weibo platform,the legal person Weibo of the People’s Daily on the one hand reports relevant news,and on the other hand assumes the responsibility of guiding relevant public opinion.What are the differences in the reports of different genders,and does the reporting tendency affect the audience’s interpretation of gender news? This is the main question of this study.To this end,this paper uses a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods to extract 920 gender news and 4513 audience comments published by the legal person Weibo of People’s Daily from January 1,2019 to December 31,2021 for content analysis.,and conducted in-depth interviews with 15 audiences.The study found that the legal person Weibo of "People’s Daily" paid more attention to men than women,and there were significant differences in the number and content of news reports between the two genders,showing a gender bias.In addition,when interpreting gender news,the audience most often adopts a hegemonic decoding position,followed by a negotiated decoding position and a confrontational decoding position.In order to further verify whether the influence exists,this paper uses interviews to understand the influence of the audience’s gender perspective on its decoding position.Based on the above,the study found that the reporting tendency of the legal person Weibo of the People’s Daily does affect the audience’s decoding position on gender news to a certain extent.According to the research results,the author puts forward his own thinking and suggestions. |
