Oral communication ability is an essential ability of modern citizens,oral communication teaching is an important part of language teaching at the primary school level,and it has a complementary relationship with literacy teaching,reading teaching and writing teaching.For the first time,the Chinese textbooks for primary schools present oral communication as an independent section,which also highlights the value of oral communication teaching.Language core literacy is the most basic and essential literacy that students should cultivate in language learning,and is the foothold of students’ language classroom learning,which emphasizes the interaction of students’ language,thinking,aesthetics and cultural literacy in different situations,and coincides with the educational attributes of oral communication teaching.Therefore,from the perspective of core language literacy,this paper empirically investigates the current situation and problems of oral communication teaching in primary schools,and discusses its improvement measures,in order to provide a basis and reference for improving the level of oral communication teaching in primary schools.Based on the teachers and students of A primary school in a certain city,guided by the core literacy of language,the survey method and the interview method were used to carry out the research,and a total of 380 student questionnaires were effectively filled in and 8 teachers were interviewed.The study found that there are the following problems:(1)primary school oral communication teaching has not received due attention,and has not been well implemented in actual teaching;(2)the core literacy of language has not been fully integrated with the teaching objectives of oral communication,which inhibits the effect of oral communication teaching;(3)the lack of expansion and extension of teaching materials,the richness of teaching content is relatively poor;(4)less vivid and interesting teaching activities are carried out,and the teaching methods are relatively single;(5)the evaluation subject is still mainly based on teachers.Problems such as the imperfection of the teaching evaluation system.The reasons for the problem mainly come from the following aspects:(1)the school’s emphasis on oral communication teaching is not high enough,and less training activities are organized on the theme of oral communication teaching;(2)some teachers fail to realize the important role of language core literacy in the process of teaching goal formulation,and ignore the cultivation of language core literacy when designing teaching goals;(3)some teachers still have the idea of "emphasizing language and light language" and do not study oral communication teaching enough;(4)Oral communication ability lacks standardized evaluation methods.Quantification of teaching evaluation is relatively difficult.In view of the above problems,this paper proposes effective strategies and improvement measures for oral communication in primary schools from the perspective of cultivating core language literacy.(1)Schools should strengthen the emphasis on oral communication teaching,ensure the independent status of oral communication teaching and strengthen management,organize teaching and research activities and teacher training of oral communication teaching,and create a favorable oral communication teaching atmosphere;(2)teachers should determine oral communication teaching goals based on language core literacy,refuse to separate or focus on oral communication teaching goals,and establish correct direction and guidance for teaching activities;(3)scientifically select and design teaching content,take teaching materials as the basis and dig deep into the value of oral communication teaching.Extend the scope of content to achieve extended teaching;(4)optimize language teaching in oral communication,actively create situations in oral communication teaching,pay attention to thinking training,and attach importance to cultural guidance;(5)combine classroom evaluation with after-class evaluation,and invite multiple subjects to participate in teaching evaluation to promote the development of oral communication skills and the improvement of core language literacy of primary school students.
