Research On Emotional Support Project For Children From Urban Low-income Families

In recent years,with the acceleration of urbanization,the gap between the rich and the poor in cities has also expanded,which has led to the emergence of urban low-income families.It not only affects the economic development of the country,but also affects the living conditions of children.Most urban low-income children are not only facing the problems of poor family economic conditions and lack of educational resources,but also lack of emotional support and difficult social integration,which directly affects their physical and mental health development.Taking the w project of s institution in X city as the research object,this paper investigates,analyzes and evaluates the problems and needs of children from low-income families in the city by using a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods.The study found that children from urban low-income families lack self-confidence and self-identity;Lack of companionship and low social emotional density;Low frequency of family interaction and apathy;Lack of emotional expression ability and poor emotional control ability.Therefore,relying on the w project of agency s,through the "social chronicle linkage" mode,we provide emotional support services for urban low-income children with serious emotional deficiency in agency s.Establish children’s information database in the early stage of the project;In the middle of the project,emotional care will be carried out and a healthy growth group will be established;In the later stage of the project,the project aims to improve the quality and ability of children,and build a professional grass-roots child welfare service team to jointly solve the problem of emotional deficiency of children from low-income families in cities from multiple perspectives,and has achieved certain service results.However,the evaluation results show that the project lacks the integration of the concept of helping others and self-help,and lacks the stimulation of children’s potential;The service is biased towards material support,and the theoretical method of project application is weak;Lack of case intervention and service continuity;There are some problems in the operation process at the institutional level,such as the single mode and the lack of people-oriented project management.To this end,targeted suggestions are put forward: in the service process,respect children’s subject status and personalized needs,protect children’s privacy,and adhere to the principle of individualization;At the social workers’ own level,they should improve their professional ability,strengthen the involvement of case work in combination with the actual needs of children,and attach importance to the combination of theory and practice;Scientific management and evaluation at the institutional level,application of modern media to strengthen social work publicity and other countermeasures and suggestions.
