| Accelerating the process of citizenization of the floating population is a core task for the development of new urbanization and an important strategic plan for achieving social equity.As the main force to promote China’s social and economic development,it is necessary to explore the influence mechanism of the floating population in the process of urban integration.The urban integration of the floating population is based on its social interaction behavior.In the process of interaction,the floating population can get recognition and affirmation from others and themselves,obtain a sense of belonging and happiness,and then realize their self-value and significance.Social capital,as a resource rooted in individual or group social networks,will have a significant impact on the floating population.With the popularization and development of the Internet,social media not only has a profound impact on economic development and People’s Daily life but also is an important platform for people to expand and reconstruct new social networks.This thesis proposes the path of social media,social capital,and their interaction,which enriches the research on urban integration of the floating population and broadens the field of research on social media and social capital construction.It provides a new perspective for the future study of urban integration of the floating population and has certain reference significance and academic value.This thesis attempts to theoretically analyze the influence mechanism of social media and social capital on the urban integration of the floating population,and builds an analytical framework of "social media use-social capital-integration of the floating population".Taking Wuhan city as the research area,716 valid questionnaires were distributed and collected from the adult floating population who had lived in Wuhan for more than half a year through field investigation.SPSS software was used to evaluate the data quality to ensure its validity of the data.Based on the research hypothesis,the measurement indexes of variables were selected and the structural equation model was constructed to conduct an empirical study on the influencing factors of urban integration of floating population,and the different analysis of different groups of the floating population was conducted.Finally,based on the research results,the thesis discusses the current situation and difficulties of urban integration of the floating population and provides policy suggestions for the current research on urban integration of the floating population in China.The empirical study found that :(1)the individual and family characteristics of floating population,such as gender,age,form of migration,health status,household registration nature,education level,family type,and annual household income,will have a significant impact on the urban integration of floating population;(2)Structural social capital of floating population has a significant impact on behavioral adaptation,relational social capital has a significant positive impact on economic integration,psychological acceptance and identity recognition,and cognitive social capital has a significant positive impact on the five dimensions of urban integration;(3)The social use of social media has a significant direct positive impact on the psychological acceptance of floating population,but has no significant direct impact on cultural acquisition and identity recognition;The recreational use and cognitive use of social media have both positive and negative effects on urban integration of floating population.(4)Social capital and social media have different effects on urban integration of different groups of floating population.Based on the results of the analysis,this paper puts forward to strengthen the floating population urbanization and integrated ability training,from the perspective of the government,enterprises and non-profit organizations focus on and promote the city into the process of the floating population,strengthening the social media platform of service quality and regulation,effectively improve the floating population of urban life satisfaction and happiness,enhance their residence of new city will,So as to promote the harmony of the whole society and promote the high-quality development of China’s new urbanization. |
