| With the advent of the era of “5G+ Education”,the integration of information technology and subject curriculum in the stage of basic education has become an important link in today’s educational development and reform. The development of information technology in education is also driving the innovation of teaching methods. However,in geography course, due to the factors of discipline background, there are generally some problems, such as the low degree of educational informatization, mainly using the teacher-centered mode, resulting in the relatively single presentation of geography knowledge, boring classroom atmosphere, which is not conducive to mobilizing students’ enthusiasm for classroom learning, and the development of smart instructional design research and practice of geography curriculum is also relatively slow. Therefore,in order to change the current passive learning mode, this study is based on the requirements of the curriculum standards, combined with the characteristics of geography subjects, under the support of intelligent teaching environment,to carry out a variety of forms of inquiry learning activities. With the educational concept of "intelligent things" to achieve "intelligent people",we build a "student-centered and teacher-led" intelligent teaching model, which is different from the traditional teacher-centered model, and can be called "student-centered HIBL" teaching model,or "HIBL+" teaching model. The instructional practice of this study takes the geography course of the junior middle school class as the experimental object, arranges the experimental class and the control class, implements the “HIBL+” instructional mode under the smart education environment in the experimental class, and implements the traditional multimedia instructional method in the control class for 17 weeks. In the process of instructional practice, the instructional data collected, through the combination of online and offline quizzes, examinations, questionnaires, and interviews. The analysis of experimental data shows that students’ learning enthusiasm and instructional quality have been improved to a certain extent, and students’ ability to analyze and solve geographical problems has also been improved. The experimental results show that in the smart education environment, the student-centered geography inquiry learning model is adapt to the current psychological development stage and learning needs of students, and also meets the requirements of the new curriculum standards(2022)for cultivating students’ geography practicality, which indicates that the model is somewhat innovative and forward-looking,and can provide reference for the implementation of middle school geography smart education. |
