Nowadays,the aging of China’s population continues to deepen,and the study of elderly groups has become a key point in the study of aging society.However,in the past,the stereotypical image of the elderly was mainly morbid,stubborn and traditional in both news reports and movie works.However,as the concept of positive aging gradually deepens in China,the "silver-haired variety" programs promote the presentation of the image of the elderly gradually become rich and diversified,and the value of the elderly also begins to be explored.The positive,healthy and joyful "new" image of elderly people is presented on the media platform.This paper mainly takes "silver-haired variety" programs in China as the research object,and uses textual analysis,case study analysis and literature analysis to study the presentation and construction of the image of the elderly in the programs.The paper is divided into the following six chapters: Chapter 1 introductory section mainly describes the background and significance of the study,through the literature review to sort out the domestic and foreign research on "silver-haired variety show" and the image of the elderly,and explain the theory of TV code and the theory of active aging and define the key concepts,and finally explain the research method and innovation of this paper.Finally,the research method and innovation points of this paper are explained.Chapter 2starts from different types of "silver-haired variety shows" in China,and divides the images of the elderly presented in the programs into those who are brave and express their love and those who are straightforward and honest,those who express themselves and those who pass on their talents and spirit in talent show,and those who embrace the net generation and those who narrate positive life in intergenerational observation shows.The third,fourth,and fifth chapters are based on John’s work.Chapters 3,4 and 5 use John Fisk’s three-level code theory of television as a framework to analyze the construction of the image of the elderly in China’s "silver-haired variety" programs from a concrete to an abstract logic.Chapter 3 analyzes the construction path of rejuvenating the image of the elderly from the code of "reality" and the costumes,behaviors and words of the elderly in the program;Chapter 4 analyzes the narrative space,symbols and perspectives of the construction of the image of the elderly from the code of "artistic expression".Chapter 5 analyzes the construction framework of the image of the elderly from the code of "ideology" and the theme of "active aging".The last chapter summarizes the value and significance of the presentation and construction of the image of the elderly,and reflects on the problems and future directions of development.In general,the construction of the image of the elderly in China’s "silver-haired variety show" is positive,on the one hand,it constructs a fun,trendy and upward-looking image of the elderly through costumes,behaviors and language symbols,and conveys the"real" feelings and life of the elderly from the narrative level.On the other hand,we analyze the themes of health,emotion and participation in the construction of senior images from the framework of positive aging,and build a benign production mechanism of "silver-haired variety show".However,due to the lack of images of the elderly in rural areas and the commercialization of the variety show market,China’s "silver-haired variety shows" need to further reflect the realistic survival of the elderly beyond the"media reality".However,due to the lack of images of the elderly in rural areas and the commercialization of the variety show market,China’s "silver-haired variety shows" need to further reflect the reality of the elderly beyond the "media reality. |
