Research On Local Government’s Response To Public Emergency Network Public Opinion

China is currently in a critical period of social structure transformation and upgrading,facing various issues of interest interference and social contradictions.The increasing number of sudden public events and the increasing influence of online public opinion pose important issues and enormous challenges for local governments to improve their response capacity and governance of society.Studying how local governments respond to and guide online public opinion in sudden public events is of great value for enhancing government governance capabilities,safeguarding citizens’ legitimate rights and interests,maintaining social stability and order,and achieving social fairness and justice.Starting from the theory of public management,this article further explores the causes,dissemination characteristics,and response mechanisms of network public opinion in sudden public events.It delves into the essence,characteristics,and evolutionary laws of sudden public events and network public opinion.It summarizes and analyzes the current situation of government response to network public opinion in sudden public events from three aspects: government response agencies,government response system construction,and government information disclosure methods,A deep analysis was conducted on the collapse accident of self built houses by residents in Changsha,Hunan.Measures and specific practices that local governments should take in dealing with such incidents were discussed,and some reference countermeasures and suggestions were proposed for the Chinese government to respond to the network public opinion of sudden public events.
