Rural human settlements are an important carrier of rural production and life, and improving rural human settlements is the essence of improving the quality of life of rural residents,as well as the main link in implementing the rural revitalization strategy. However,as China’s economy enters a stage of high-quality development, people’s desire for a better life and their demand for quality of life continue to increase. The imbalance between the rural "natural ecosystem" and "socio-economic system" has seriously damaged the rural human settlements.Hongguang Village is a demonstration village for the construction of beautiful villages in Hubei Province and a pioneer village for the improvement of rural human settlements.During the process of improving the human settlements,Hongguang Village has achieved remarkable results in terms of industrial planning, village appearance, environmental sanitation, and other aspects.During the visit and investigation,we found that the overall architectural appearance of the village is uneven, the construction of supporting facilities in the village is not yet perfect, the environmental pollution situation in the village is widespread, and villagers lack vitality in participating in environmental remediation. After in-depth analysis of the reasons, the main manifestations are unreasonable overall planning and layout of the village, inadequate investment in grassroots governance funds, imperfect grassroots management system and mechanisms, and lack of vitality for villagers to participate in environmental governance. To build a livable,business-friendly,and beautiful village, the improvement of human settlements should be taken as a basic project.Hongguang Village should adhere to green development and make a good planning and layout for the improvement;Increase capital investment and improve infrastructure construction;Optimizing the governance system and establishing a long-term operating mechanism;Efforts should be made to strengthen the subjective consciousness and stimulate the endogenous motivation of villagers. |
