At this stage, there are two ongoing trends in our society, namely the aging of the population and the digitization of life, the former giving rise to hundreds of millions of elderly people and the latter becoming an integral part of people’s daily lives. While the demographic structure is getting "older",digital products are getting "newer",thus triggering many contradictions and digital divides between the new and the old.The article focuses on the digital integration of the elderly and the issue of aging appropriateness.Through a combination of online and offline research methods,a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods,i.e.,questionnaires and in-depth interviews,is used to investigate the use of smartphones and the needs of aging appropriateness among the elderly in Wuwei city.Based on the collected questionnaire data and interview data,we extended the technology acceptance model by keeping the two key factors of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use in the original model on the one hand, and adding the variable of "age" to the external factors to represent the stage of population aging on the other hand.At the same time, combining the special physiological and psychological characteristics of the elderly group,an age-appropriate version of the technology acceptance model is constructed, and the main factors affecting the use of digital products by the elderly are further proposed, namely, cognition and demand, ability and literacy, and environment and support, and the specific factors involved in each dimension are analyzed in detail.Based on the analysis results of the empirical research and the feedback from the users of the current digital products after the ageing retrofit, the study proposes the path of media ageing retrofit and the future development direction of digital ageing based on the theoretical connotation of "positive aging",which is centered on three main themes, namely inclusiveness, comprehensiveness and participation.Inclusiveness highlights the implementation of the concept of digital inclusion, which extends from product ageing to digital inclusion, and forms a social atmosphere and governance pattern of proper ageing, active helping and sincere respect for the elderly;comprehensiveness is committed to forming a mechanism of online and offline helping and ageing, and ensuring the stability and permanence of services and auxiliary support;participation focuses on calling on a wide range of social forces to build a pluralistic governance of digital ageing. The participatory approach focuses on calling on a wide range of social forces to build a pluralistic governance of digital ageing, with the participation of government, enterprises, communities, families and individual elderly people. At the national level,we should give full play to the role of top-level design, one is to use policy escort to help enterprises enhance the enthusiasm of ageing-friendly transformation, and the other is to carry out special governance actions to strengthen governance and supervision to protect the rights and interests of silver-haired groups. At the enterprise level,we take technology for good as the general guide, care for the experience of silver-haired users, clarify the demand orientation in the ageing-friendly renovation, and establish a long-term user feedback mechanism. For the social level,we advocate all parties to implement the concept of digital inclusion, and the community is the last mile to build a digital society.Through the Silver Age School and the elderly KOL,we strengthen the digital skills and media literacy of the elderly, and digital feed backs are crucial in the family field. The aging society we live in now will be the aging era we will all experience in a few years.Digital ageing is not only to solve the current aging process, but also to explore the way for everyone’s future digital life.
