Community Support Research For Bridging The Digital Divide In Older People

The development of digitalization and intelligence brings about a new way of life,and many services have begun to turn to online development.This shift brings convenience to life as it also brings some challenges.Among them,the elderly group is excluded because they cannot keep up with this development,resulting in the digital divide of the elderly.Therefore,under the guidance of the knowledge gap theory and social exclusion theory,from the perspective of the community,this paper takes the digital service needs of the elderly as the logical starting point,and through a qualitative study of the interview data and a quantitative analysis of the questionnaire data to analyze the impact of community support on the digital divide of the elderly,and explore the way to bridge the digital divide of the elderly.This paper is mainly divided into the following parts: First,Through the insufficient research of the current digital divide among the elderly,Determine that this paper will take the elderly digital divide knowledge gap as the main research object;second,Build the research framework of this paper through the knowledge gap theory;third,Through the qualitative analysis of 55 interview data in Shanghai,the specific dimension of the digital divide of the elderly and the specific path of the community to bridge the digital divide of the elderly;fourth,Based on the data of 711 questionnaires surveyed in Shanghai,Analysis and validations of the impact of community support on the digital divide in older adults using the logit approach,Finally,through the conclusions of chapter 3 and Chapter 4,the problems and reasons of the current community support in Shanghai in bridging the digital divide among the elderly,Put forward to improve the Shanghai community support to bridge the digital divide among the elderly policy suggestions.The main conclusions of this paper are as follows: First,community support helps bridge the digital divide in older people.Among them,community support can be divided into digital training and digital transformation according to the content.Secondly,the sense of community belonging and family peer support have significant positive regulatory effects in community support bridging the digital divide in older adults.The stronger the sense of community belonging and family and peer support,the stronger the community support bridges the digital divide in older people.Third,there are significant age differences in community support for bridging the digital divide in older age.In terms of the use gap of the older digital divide,community support affects the younger elderly more significantly;in terms of the knowledge gap,digital training is more effective,and digital transformation affects the younger elderly more significantly.On this basis,this paper found that there are many problems in the community support between the elderly in Shanghai,including the insufficient interaction of the community and the community in the community.The reasons for the above problems are analyzed from the individual level,community level and primary group support level,and finally suggestions for community support to bridge the elderly digital divide are given from the aspects of path,subject,content and team building.
