At present,China is in the context of an aging population and the intertwining of social networks, and the elderly are facing more and more severe challenges in social life.According to relevant data forecasts,China’s elderly population will exceed 500 million in 2050,and the trend of population aging should not be underestimated. And the elderly,as part of the social subject, should not be excluded and become marginalized.Especially in the era of networking,we should pay more attention to the elderly who are facing difficulties in social development, bridge the digital gap between the elderly and young people due to the imbalance of information resources in digital life as much as possible, promote the sharing of social resources, and ensure that the whole society shares the benefits of the development of the era. This study is based on social support theory and cultural feedback theory, combined with quantitative data analysis and interview outline.Through the collection of data in the field,semi-structured interviews and statistical analysis, the formation of the digital divide among the elderly was explored. This study expounds the current situation and performance of the digital divide among the elderly in China;through literature combing and field surveys, lays the foundation for the design of questionnaires, and designs questionnaires for data collection;moreover,SPSS analysis software is used for descriptive analysis and regression analysis to clarify the degree of impact of various variables on the digital divide of the elderly, combined with interview data for summary and analysis;finally, according to empirical research and experience, suggestions are provided for effectively bridging the digital divide of the elderly. This paper uses questionnaire surveys combined with field interviews to obtain the following research conclusions: First,it can be found that gender, age, and education level in the basic characteristics of individuals have a significant impact on the digital divide of the elderly;second,it is clear that formal social support,quasi-formal social support, and informal social support at the social level have a significant impact on the digital divide of the elderly, and there is a positive correlation.Supplemented by data from field interviews, the causes of the digital divide in the elderly are analysed.Based on the theory of social support and cultural feedback, combined with practical experience, suggestions on bridging the digital divide of the elderly are put forward from the perspective of the government, communities, enterprises, families and individuals: first, for formal social support,it is necessary to play the leading role of the government, improve Internet laws and regulations, increase government system guarantees and technical investment, and promote the re-education of the elderly;second, for quasi-formal social support,it is necessary to play the service function of the community, continuously improve the service for the elderly, and promote the construction of community facilities for the elderly.Promote the development of aging products for enterprises;third, for informal social support,we should give full play to the role of family children, neighborhood friends and themselves, make full use of intergenerational feedback to promote the resocialization of the elderly, change the thinking of the elderly themselves, and improve the motivation to learn,so as to bridge the digital divide.
