In the 21st century,mankind has entered a new era of comprehensive development of the marine economy.The role of the marine economy in driving national development has become increasingly obvious.With the proposal of the strategy of building a "maritime power",China and Africa have begun to jointly build the Maritime Silk Road.The maritime trade relations between China and Africa are getting closer.At the same time,China and Africa are also facing many maritime security issues in their vigorous development of maritime trade cooperation.In recent years,piracy attacks have occurred frequently all over the world.The China-Africa Sea Passage is an important part of the 21 st Century Maritime Silk Road and China’s main energy road to Africa.Most of the pirates in the world are active in the China-Africa Sea Passage.In order to ensure the safety of the Sea Passage and promote the smooth development of China-Africa maritime trade,it is urgent to analyze the situation of piracy activities in China-Africa Sea Passage and study the spatial distribution of piracy activities.This article first conducts a comprehensive understanding of the situation of piracy activities in the China-Africa Sea Passage,divides the China-Africa Sea Passage and defines dangerous sea areas,and makes statistics on pirate attacks in the dangerous sea areas of the China-Africa Sea Passage from 2010 to 2019;Then use the kernel density analysis method to statically analyze the spatial distribution characteristics of piracy activities in the China-Africa Sea Passage from 2010 to 2019,and use the center of gravity transfer model to dynamically analyze the spatiotemporal evolution of piracy activities in dangerous sea areas,and use global spatial autocorrelation and local spatial autocorrelation to center Describe the overall and partial characteristics of the distribution of piracy activities in the China-Africa Sea Passage;Finally,the spatial econometric model is used to analyze the factors that affect the spatial distribution of piracy activities in China-Africa Sea Passage.The results of the study show that,first of all,the number of pirate attacks on the China-Africa Sea Passage accounted for 81% of the global number of pirate attacks,and pirate activities were extremely frequent in February,March,April,May,October and November and were attacked.Among the types of ships,oil tankers,bulk carriers,container ships,chemical tankers and general cargo ships account for 75%;Secondly,with the passage of time,the spatial distribution of piracy activities in the China-Africa Sea Passage has shown different trends,and the center of gravity of piracy activities in various dangerous sea areas has different migration directions and magnitudes.The piracy activities on the China-Africa Sea Passage have shown a discrete-aggregation-discrete form within ten years.It also presents three local spatial characteristics of high-low(H-L),low-high(L-H)and low-low(L-L)agglomeration modes;Third,piracy activities in the China-Africa Sea Passage have significant spatial spillover effects,and governance intensity factors have the greatest impact on the spatial distribution of piracy activities in the China-Africa Sea Passage.Finally,the article summarizes relevant conclusions based on the empirical results.At the same time,according to the structure of the article,relevant governance suggestions are added after each conclusion.The results obtained in the article have a profound impact on internationally combating piracy activities in the China-Africa Sea Passage,ensuring the safety of the China-Africa Sea Passage,and promoting the in-depth development of China-Africa maritime trade.
