With the intensification of the problem of population aging,China advocated in the report of the Nineteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China to "actively respond to the aging of the population,build a policy system and social environment for the elderly,filial piety and respect for the elderly,and accelerate the development of the cause and industry of the elderly",and put forward the positive pension model concept of "based on home care,relying on community pension,and supplemented by institutional pension".As an important part of active old-age care,meal assistance services play a vital role in improving the quality of life of the elderly and improving the social environment for the elderly.In the "Regulations on Elderly Care Services in Jiangsu Province",it is also clearly pointed out that social forces are actively introduced,and meals for the elderly are established or operated to provide high-quality meal assistance services for the elderly.This paper first analyzes the architectural connotation and characteristics of meal assistance,analyzes the latest research results of pension facilities at home and abroad.Then,the three cities of Suzhou,Nanjing and Yangzhou,which are relatively mature in the aging construction of Jiangsu Province,were selected as research areas,and the policy documents of relevant departments were studied,the main normative standards were interpreted,and the relevant problems in the current dining of the elderly were summarized.Secondly,through field visits,questionnaire surveys,and case interviews,we will understand the suggestions and needs of the staff members in the meal assistant,the dining staff and the elderly over 60 years old in the three cities for the elderly meal assistance,and analyze the current problems of the cross of the flow line,insufficient storage space,lack of ageability in the dining environment,single dining space,and low space utilization rate of the meal assistance.The various behaviors of the elderly in the meal assistance and the content they contain are summarized,and the different construction needs of different construction forms of meal assistance in the kitchen space,dining space and other spaces are analyzed.Through the mapping of behavior maps,the high-frequency behaviors and reasons for the occurrence of behaviors in different spaces and times of the elderly are analyzed.On the basis of the above research on behavior and demand,the optimal design principles of elderly meal assistance are proposed: the principle of adaptability to aging,the principle of adaptability and the principle of intensive type,and the design points of space environment safety,kitchen space visualization,service space participation,and functional space socialization are proposed for the space design of meal assistance.Finally,design studies are conducted on some of these cases.Due to the repeated epidemic situation in China,there were epidemics in the three places during the research and writing of the paper,which led to data statistics difficulties,and due to the author’s limited professionalism,the research methods and research conclusions of this paper need to be improved.It is hoped that in the future,more in-depth research on this type of building can be carried out,which can give certain reference significance to the design of future meal assistance.
