| Since the rise of the 1960 s,participatory documentary has gradually changed from surface reality to a deep recording method that influences social reality through certain intervention and participation. In the process of participation, producers will pay more attention to the real and vivid interaction with the subjects, and pay attention to the sense of participation, instead of "watching from the sidelines" observation. This model turns "I tell you about them" into something close to "I tell us(me and you)through them." Centering on the characteristics of participatory documentary, this paper emphasizes the use of first-person perspective, influences the development process of events with the subjective intervention of participatory documentary creators, stimulates the deep authentic expression of subjects, etc.,and thus achieves a linear understanding of the "intervention" and "participation" of documentaries. And the characteristics of participatory documentary and participatory documentary narrative strategy are analyzed. The graduation work,"The Bridge of Confucius Institute",is a participatory documentary with volunteers dispatched from the Confucius Institute of Gangwon University in South Korea as the main subjects. It takes volunteers’ work in the Confucius Institute as the main subjects, reconstructing and reproducing the difficulties in work, their original intention of coming to South Korea, and the happiness they feel in cross-cultural communication with Korean Chinese lovers. The aim of the film is to show the cross-cultural communication between the volunteers and the Korean students,so that the exchange of civilizations will transcend estrangement, mutual learning will transcend conflict, and coexistence will transcend superiority. The first part summarizes and expounds the concept and type of participatory documentary, and explains the classification, characteristics and definition of participatory documentary. The second part analyzes the narrative strategy of participatory documentary. It sorted out and subdivided the story construction, emotion expression and audio-visual language, and deepened the meaning through diversified lens language. The montage technique sublimates the emotion and explores the multi-perspective of the Confucius Institute to convey Chinese culture;Reasonable use of sound elements to enhance emotional expression and artistic effect; The fragmented structure of life narrative is used to make the narrative of the work closer to the audience, deepen the theme, and elaborate the narrative strategy of The Bridge to the Confucius Institute. The third part is the privacy and ethical issues of the graduation work The Bridge of Confucius Institute in cross-cultural communication, and analyzes the moral dilemmas and solutions in the film. Finally, the fourth part is about the experience summary and reflection of creation.Taking the graduation work "The Bridge of Confucius Institute" as an example, this paper deeply studies the significance and value of participatory cross-cultural documentary creation. |
