| Everyone is a recorder of life: In the new media era of loud voices and mass revelry,mass creators can create their own documentaries anytime and anywhere.They either emphasize the interaction between the photographer and the subject out of self-expression;Or disclose the information of the creator’s presence to the audience in order to close the psychological distance with the audience in front of the screen;Or actively participate in the development of the subject’s event out of personal interest.All this presents the main characteristics of participatory documentaries.Participatory documentaries have flourished since the 1960 s,and their breakthrough in the creator’s transition from "watching from the sidelines" to "actively engaging" has already explored the boundaries of the documentary’s regulatory framework in terms of form and content expression.Based on this,this article will systematically explore the narrative techniques and image expression strategies of participatory documentaries in combination with the graduation design work "Smooth sailing".Strive to provide some feasible reference for the creative practice of participatory documentary films,help mass creators form creative ideas in the creation of video texts,and reflect the social style of the new era with richer documentary expression methods.The first part is an introduction,focusing on discussing the research background and significance of this topic,summarizing and analyzing the current research situation and trends at home and abroad,and explaining the main content,research methods,innovation points,and other aspects of this topic.And use relevant theories to summarize the graduation work "Smooth sailing".The second part is an overview of participatory documentaries,which defines the concept of participatory documentaries,combs the development of participatory documentaries,and determines the characteristics of participatory documentaries.The third part is the research on the narrative techniques of participatory documentaries.Through the author’s graduation work practice,this chapter studies the narrative perspective,narrative structure,and theme presentation of participatory documentaries from three aspects.The fourth part is the image expression strategy of participatory documentary.This chapter conducts research from three aspects: lens language,sound elements,and modeling language to express aesthetic connotations.Taking the author’s graduation work practice as an example.The fifth part is the creative summary and reflection of the graduation work "Smooth sailing".Through theoretical analysis,the author reviewed his graduation works,accumulated experience and lessons,and summarized and reflected on them. |
