Since2004, China has explosed to set up nonprofit public welfare institutions(named The Confucius Institute)With the aim in teaching Chinese and popularizingChinese culture,on base of using the experience of language promotion in Britain,France, Germany, Spain etc. In recent years The Confucius Institute with its rapiddevelopment,has pervaded in100countries from Asia,Europe,America AfricaOceania.Until the end of August,2011,there have been353Confucius institutes,437Confucius class,826institution/organizations in all.The quality of education is the lifeline of the development of overseas ConfuciusInstitute. Making the high quality of Chinese-foreign cooperation education is theinevitable trend and the important component of China’s higher educationinternationalization. Liu Yandong, the State councilor and headquarter of CCCPC ofConfucius Institute, stressed that we should insist on joint participation, equalitycooperation and actively explore, improve quality, keep the Confucius Institute vitalityand vigor on the third session of the board of the Confucius Institute conference.Besides, we also should pay attention to improve the quality, set up the consciousness ofbrand, strive to run the existing Confucius Institute, focus on constructing a group ofdemonstration Confucius Institutes, and creating new Confucius Institutes positivelyand orderly.Problems in teacher, teaching materials and teaching(three teachingproblems for short) have a serious impact on the sustainable development of theConfucius Institute.Therefore, this article views "three teaching problems" as animportant breakthrough,deeply research,proposes countermeasure to keep thesustainable development of the Confucius institute.First of all, this paper states the background, present situation, significance,thought and main method of this study, then following the brief introduction of overseasConfucius Institute, including the background of overseas Confucius Institute, themeaning of founding the Confucius Institute, and the characteristics of overseasConfucius Institute. Combined with the present situation of overseas Confucius Institute,the author analyses the problems with in its rapid development, and puts forward thestrategy of suitable for China’s national conditions based on experience of successfulcases of running Confucius Institute. This mainly content of this study as follows:Through the analysis of the present situation of overseas Confucius Institute, we find that there are so many problems existing in the rapid development process ofConfucius Institute, for example, it’s lack of Chinese language teachers, the teachingability is not strong, the quality of education is not high enough, the development ofChinese textbooks is insufficient, teaching material quality is not high, especially lackof the Chinese teaching materials matching the localization of various countries,method of teaching Chinese is not correct, and the teaching effect is not ideal, financialinput can’t meet the demand for Chinese, defects exist in management system, financialmanagement is not perfect and so on.Among them, Problems in teacher, teachingmaterials and teaching(three teaching problems for short)especially, become abottleneck, restrict the sustainable development of the Confucius Institute.Therefore,inorder to promote the sustainable development of the Confucius Institute we should Setup and perfect the teacher management system, mainly from the following severalaspects: perfect the access system of international Chinese teachers, strengthen thedevelopment and training management of international Chinese teachers,and speed upthe development of international Chinese education for the master degree graduatestudents, increases cooperation efforts between foreign and native Chinese teachers, andintroduces in detail this success case that the Philippines and Fujian Normal Universityjoint training Chinese language teachers, it provides experience for other countries, andimproves the teaching level of national Chinese teachers.We also should make efforts onthe following aspects, such as, strengthen volunteer management project of Chineseteachers both at home and abroad, strengthen the management of the base of Chineseinternational promotion, improve the treatment guarantee of teachers abroad, establishincentive system, Set up and perfect the research and development system of Chineseteaching material, research in-depth to make it clear the development trend of teachingresources, and increase the strength of teaching material popularization;reform theteaching method;At last, this paper summarizes briefly the innovation points, draws the conclusion,and explores the future direction and thought of the research.
