| With the rapid expansion of cities,high-rise housing, motorization of roads, and overprotective parents, children are missing most of the opportunities for independent mobility and outdoor play during their social development, resulting in obesity,Internet addiction, loss of social skills, nature deficit disorder, and lack of road traffic knowledge. The ability to travel independently is extremely important for children’s growth and development, and the experiences gained during childhood will also shape the thinking space in adulthood, and improving children’s ability to travel independently has a positive effect on increasing children’s physical activity, increasing awareness of travel safety, reducing obesity, and promoting social interaction. However, children’s independent travel behavior is interrupted by too many subjective and objective factors, and research in the field of independent travel for children often comes from interventions in urban construction and transportation planning,so it is worthwhile to promote the development of more reasonable and effective independent travel behavior for children from a design perspective.Gamification has emerged in recent years and has excellent practical results in a wide range of industries.Gamification has its unique advantages in promoting internal motivation, exerting subjective initiative and improving user experience. In this paper,we try to apply gamification design to the training of children’s independent travel ability,so as to promote the improvement of independent travel ability and provide new opportunities and ideas for the development of gamification in the field of behavior development.Firstly, through literature and secondary data research,we sort out and study the theories related to gamification and children’s independent travel;secondly,we analyze the users of children’s groups, understand the problems and influencing factors of children’s independent travel through qualitative and quantitative research, and explore the needs, and on this basis,we refine and summarize the motives of children’s independent travel to provide opportunities and landing points for the intervention of gamification;furthermore, through the preliminary theories of gamification and secondary data research,we try to understand the problems and influencing factors of children’s independent travel, and explore the needs.Through the theory of gamification and user needs, and combined with the strategic experience module, the gamification design strategy for children’s independent travel training was constructed, and the three design levels of motivation, behavior and performance were output, and the design strategy corresponding to each level was proposed;finally, combined with the design guidance strategy,a multi-scene and multi-element mobile learning platform for children’s independent travel comprehensive ability development was designed and output, and Through the offline usability test, the feasibility and effectiveness of the gamification design applied to children’s independent travel training products were initially verified. |
