The title of this paper is "Research on the application of gamification thinking in preschool children’s picture books" —Take the picture book "Meimei’s new year’s Eve" as the study case.The main content of this paper is to explore the application of gamification design method in preschool children’s picture book creation by studying the characteristics and methods of gamification design,combining the artistic characteristics of picture books and the cognitive level of preschool children.Based on the theoretical research,this paper puts forward the methodology of gamification design of picture book,and carries out the creation practice with the theme of traditional festivals.Based on this topic,this author first uses the library,network and other platforms to carry out the relevant literature collection,to understand the gamification design and picture book design related theoretical research status from multiple perspectives.With the help of offline survey and online survey,the author collects the market related information,to understand the development and market situation of gamification children’s picture book design,analyzes the excellent and typical gamification children’s picture books at home and abroad,and summarizes their advantages in color application,layout and modeling design,so as to draw a lot of advanced design experience.Finally,through the analysis of the data from the questionnaire survey,the author summarizes the pain points of users when using related products,as well as their expectations and demands for products,which provides a reference and basis for the subsequent design practice.In terms of theoretical research,the author first summarizes the concept of gamification and the development of the theory,and sorts out the representative theoretical views,and analyzes the similarities and differences among several related concepts of gamification,serious game,toy and playful design.Secondly,this paper analyzes the gamification design from the perspective of game science,and comes to the conclusion that gamification design is composed of user experience characteristics and product structure characteristics.Then the author discusses the characteristics of gamification design from the perspective of psychological theory,and puts forward several principles of gamification design.Finally,the author focuses on the analysis of the characteristics and methods of the application of gamification design method in children’s picture books,and interprets the design characteristics of children’s gamification picture books in different cognitive stages,hoping to explore the design methods and artistic expression matching with theory through the analysis and collation of relevant concepts and cases,so as to provide a theoretical basis for the creation of gamification picture books in the future.The creation practice report includes the explanation and analysis of the choice of subject matter,the refinement of artistic language,and the interpretation of creativity,which focuses on the use of gamification design methods to achieve the creation of a unique narrative structure of picture books,and the use of methods of paper game,numerical design and binding design to achieve the improvement of traditional picture books in the lack of interaction and lack of interesting feedback.
