In the post-epidemic era,the development of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages is facing new opportunities and challenges,and so is the employment of Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages(hereinafter referred to as "MTCSOL").Since the establishment of the master’s degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages in 2007,the enrollment scale of the major has been expanding,and the employment problem has gradually emerged,especially in the post-epidemic era.Employment intention refers to the future career plans of MTCSOL.Investigating the employment intention of MTCSOL can help us understand MTCSOL ideas about his future career.On the basis of understanding MTCSOL employment intention,we can give them corresponding employment guidance,and at the same time,we can look back on the shortcomings and deficiencies in the teaching of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages.From the perspective of "employment intention",this study adopts the methods of literature analysis,questionnaire survey and interview,taking MTCSOL who are about to graduate from five universities in Hebei Province in 2023 as the survey objects.On the basis of questionnaire survey,supplemented by personal interviews,and through SPSS 27.0software to analyze the correlation of some survey results.In order to understand the present situation of MTCSOL employment intention in Hebei Province,analyze the factors that affect MTCSOL employment intention,and put forward corresponding suggestions from the personal level,the teacher level and the school level according to the survey results.The results show that the employment intention of MTCSOL in Hebei Province in the post-epidemic era has the following characteristics:(1)The male-female ratio of MTCSOL in Hebei Province is seriously out of balance.There are many MTCSOL whose undergraduate majors are consistent with their master’s majors,and most of them are closely related to their master’s majors.(2)Most MTCSOL have their own career plans,but most of them are not optimistic about the employment prospects of their major;(3)The employment intention of MTCSOL is unstable;(4)Compared with those who practice in China,the proportion of MTCSOL who are willing to go abroad to teach Chinese as a foreign language after graduation is higher.In view of the employment intention of MTCSOL in Hebei Province in the post-epidemic era and the development of this major,this study puts forward the following suggestions from the personal level,the teacher level and the university level:(1)The level of student: Give full play to the advantages of undergraduate majors;Attach importance to the acquisition of skill certificates;Clear employment direction,do a good job in career planning,etc.(2)The level of teachers: improving modern teaching skills;Share international Chinese online and offline teaching cases.(3)The level of school: diversified forms of practice;Optimize the internship time;Pay attention to the course of thesis writing and optimize the length of schooling. |
