A Study On The Narrative Expression Of Imafes In Picture Books Without Words

Picture books initially played an important role in children’s education.With the gradual participation and creation of artists in various fields,their forms of expression have become increasingly diverse,including the emergence of a large number of wordless picture books.As a type of picture book that mainly uses images to narrate,wordless picture books do not need to be constrained by text,but can the intention of the creator be accurately expressed through images,and how can the work be read?How do readers understand the author’s mind? What are the characteristics that distinguish it from picture books with characters? These became the original intention of the author’s thesis.Based on the summary of the current research situation at home and abroad,it is found that predecessors have summarized the definition,narrative composition,and expression methods of wordless picture books,but there is no overly detailed description of how the image narration in wordless picture books is performed.This article uses the methods of literature research,case analysis,and case analysis.This paper studies the characteristics of image narration in wordless picture books,finds out the expression of image narration in the composition of wordless picture books,and summarizes the expression methods of image narration in wordless picture books.From the perspective of the expression of image narration in the composition of a wordless picture book,the author’s arrangement of the entire story can be seen from the image narration in the cover and back cover,title page,ring lining,and text,as well as from the unfolding structure and three-act structure to demonstrate the ingenuity of the author’s image setting;From the perspective of characteristics,wordless picture books have the advantages of reading given by images,and the presentation of lens language and image connection have become more delicate;From the perspective of expression methods,wordless picture books use a more realistic picture style,richer expressions and actions,and a stronger environmental atmosphere to narrate.From the perspective of expression methods,they use sequence,narration,and dual narration to present the story context.Finally,theoretical research results are used to guide practical creation,and the characteristics and expressive techniques of analysis and summary are applied to the creation of the wordless picture book "Fantasy of the Quilt",which is vividly and interestingly presented to the reader and also provides certain ideas for future creators of the wordless picture book.
