Research On Picture Book Design Based On Image Narrative

Chinese traditional festivals have various forms and rich connotations,which constitute the profound and long-standing history and culture of the Chinese nation.As an important component of the history and culture of a nation and a country,festivals are not only a process of cultural accumulation and cohesion,but also an important way and carrier for cultural inheritance and promotion.The Dragon Boat Festival is one of the four traditional festivals in China.It is parallel to the Spring Festival,Tomb Sweeping Day and Mid-Autumn Festival.Its cultural influence spreads all over the world.Many countries and regions will hold celebrations to commemorate this important festival.In May 2006,the State Council officially included it in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage lists to protect and inherit this precious wealth;Since 2008,the Dragon Boat Festival has been listed as a national statutory holiday,so it is of great significance to explore the cultural connotations behind it.Picture books are a medium for expressing story content through images,combined with text,to make the story content more intuitive and carry the responsibility of spreading traditional culture.From the perspective of the Chinese picture book market,the vast majority of picture books are imported from abroad,while the proportion of original picture books is relatively low.Moreover,the trend of worshipping the "foreign" festival is becoming increasingly evident,and there are significant differences in the design quality of picture books.China’s excellent traditional festivals are gradually overlooked and buried,and Chinese good stories cannot be inherited and disseminated.Based on this,this article combines the Dragon Boat Festival story with picture books,Translate the profound cultural connotations of traditional Chinese festivals such as the Dragon Boat Festival into images and present them in picture books to better spread the culture of the Dragon Boat Festival.This article starts from the perspective of image narrative and takes the graduation creation "Dragon Boat Festival Impression" as the research object.It first analyzes the relevant content of image narrative and picture book story design from the perspective of theoretical concepts;Next,conduct in-depth research and analysis on the role of various design elements in picture book design under image narrative,in order to explore the image narrative strategy of picture book design and summarize the performance characteristics;Then,the cultural customs and picture books of the Dragon Boat Festival were analyzed and summarized;Finally,starting from the perspective of image narrative,combining narrative elements and relevant strategies and methods of picture book design under image narrative,this paper conducts design practice on the "Dragon Boat Festival Impression" picture book,conducts in-depth research on the narrative expression of the picture book,explores more unique forms of expression,enriches its creative visual language,and gives it stronger narrative and visual impact in modern society.
