The Influence Of Online Activity On The Recognition Of Chinese Cultural Identity Among Ethnic Chinese Teenagers

In the era of globalization,how to promote a positive image of China and enhance the recognition of Chinese culture has always been a core issue for the Chinese international education teacher.During the COVID-19 period,this paper explores whether online cultural activities can help enhance the cultural identity of Ethnic Chinese teenagers.The study focuses on Chinese school students who participated in the "2021 Jiangsu Province Grand Canal Culture Online for Ethnic Chinese teenagers" and employs a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods to investigate the impact of online summer camp activities on the cultural identity of Chinese youth living overseas.This language learning and cultural experience activity may contribute to inspiring Ethnic Chinese teenagers to identify with and be proud of their ancestral country,and promoting the overseas inheritance of China’s outstanding cultural traditions.The study found that online summer camp activities can effectively promote the cultural identity of Ethnic Chinese teenagers.Participants in this online activity showed a high level of cultural identity in three aspects: cultural identity,cultural symbol recognition,and cultural value recognition.In terms of cultural identity,the online summer camp provided a platform for Chinese youth to seek identity recognition,and helped them construct selfidentity through shared experiences and exchanges with overseas Chinese groups with similar cultural backgrounds,thereby enhancing their sense of belonging to the Chinese community and cultural identity.In terms of cultural symbol recognition,the online summer camp helped participants expand their knowledge and gain insights into cultural symbols,thereby deepening their understanding of the meaning and connotations of cultural symbols and increasing their confidence in Chinese culture.In terms of cultural value identification,the online summer camp can make full use of cultural shaping’s implicit influence on people and provide excellent Chinese cultural values to participants through rich content forms,helping them form good value judgments and value orientations.
