Richard Strauss(1864--1949)was an outstanding German composer,pianist and conductor in the 19th century,with a landmark position in the history of world music.Richard Strauss’s contribution in the field of art songs is particularly outstanding.This paper chooses his two art songs "Rest in Peace,My Soul" and "Tomorrow Morning"as the research object,and makes an in-depth analysis of his creative techniques and singing skills,so as to explore the creative techniques and singing analysis of art songs in the late Romantic period.This paper is divided into three parts:background,creative techniques analysis,singing exploration.The first chapter discusses the life of Richard Strauss and the creation of art songs.The second chapter analyzes the creation techniques of two art songs in the mature period of Richard Strauss.The third chapter combined with my own singing experience,the singing skills of the two art songs,singing and accompaniment coordination,artistic image and performance are analyzed.Through the exploration and analysis of this paper,we can more accurately grasp the style characteristics of singing Richard Strauss’s art songs,and provide reference and help for future vocal music learners in singing the composer’s art songs.
