Richard Strauss is in the nineteenth century and the turn of the twentieth century's most influential composers of the world. During his time, his compositions made him famous and wealthy; Strauss was also the most publicized composer of the early twentieth century. He composed over two hundred German Lieder, and his works stand the test of time. Richard Strauss's early Lieder, and his major contribution to the lieder was his development of the tradition of German Lieder style and transformed into a giant colorful passionate lyricism and feature richly-textured. His composition of Lieder has climbed to a new peak.In this paper, Richard Strauss three representative early song "All Souls Day" "Serenade," "Night" are as an example, a comprehensive analysis of the background of the compositions, characteristics and singing instructions.
