As globalization becomes an irreversible trend of the times, people in different countries overcome various obstacles including languages and cultures, and communicate with each other. The communication needs of different languages make the role of interpreter an indispensable part in the process of exchanges. However,in actual interpreting process, mistakes are inevitable, one of the reasons is the unpredictability of the on-site situation. Therefore, seeking effective coping strategies to reduce the interference of various factors and avoid similar mistakes is particularly important for the long-term development of interpreters. This report selects the transcript of the on-site consecutive interpreting of Cultural Difference completed by the author on June 3rd,2021 as material, and analyzes the performance of the interpreting from the two perspectives of Eco-Translatology,namely“Adaptation and Selection”and“Post-Event Penalty”.This report aims to explore the feasible strategies to improve the adaptability and source language processing ability of interpreters through the combination of theory and practice. In this report, the author mainly uses three methods of“Adaptation and Selection”to improve her interpreting:“adaptive replication”,“adaptive reduction”and“adaptive addition”.Through analysis,it is found that these three coping strategies can help to reduce the burden of the interpreter and improve the efficiency and accuracy of interpreting.Based on“Post-Event Penalty”,the author selects some cases of misinterpreting and then conducts self-introspection.She believes that in the process of“Post-Event Penalty”,the interpreter can discover problems that are difficult to realize in the interpreting process, which is an effective way for interpreters to improve their self-awareness.Moreover,the author believes that in the face of unpredictable interpreting environment,pre-interpreting preparation is important, but its role is relatively limited, while a large number of daily practices can lay a solid foundation for the smooth completion of interpreting, and promote the interpreter’s listening and speaking ability and note taking ability. In addition, the indivisibility of language and culture highlights the importance of understanding different cultural backgrounds. However, the author holds that compared with other countries’culture,we must first understand our own culture in order to convey the meaning of the source language with higher accuracy. At the same time, improving the understanding of the target language will help to convert the content of the source language in a more natural and authentic way.The author hopes that this report is of relevance, and can help interpreting learners avoid making similar mistakes in interpreting activities in the future.
