As a bridge that connects people from different cultural background and speaking different language, interpreting is playing an increasingly important role in communications around the globe.Eco-translatology is a new translation theory, which adopts “the survival of the fittest” theory from Biology to study translation. It points out that translation is a process that the interpreter makes fitting selection to original language according to the existing Eco-environment of translation so as to produce target language. This thesis is an interpreting practice report. The writer served as an interpreter in a cultural communication meeting on Inner Mongolian and French wine culture.Under the guidance of Eco-translatology,the interpretation of this meeting will be explored in three dimensions, including linguistic, cultural and communicative dimensions by studying cases. In linguistic dimension, there are differences between Chinese and English language due to different thinking modes. Therefore, through fitting selection, the interpreter adopted approaches such as choosing the right subject and verb division to fit into the Eco-environment of the target language. In cultural dimension, different cultural elements are embodied in different languages. The interpreter will analyze interpreting skills applied when interpreting quotations. In communicative dimension, language has certain communicative function. In this meeting, the interpretation served the speakers’ communicative purpose.Furthermore, following the principle of “post-event penalty”,this report will discuss problems appeared in the interpretation, covering the influence of the French accent, lack of extra-linguistic knowledge and problems in note-taking.After the analysis and discussion, the author will revise her interpretation, which will serve as a lesson for the interpreter to improve the quality of the interpretation in the future task.To conclude, the interpreter considers that an interpreter should make adaptive and selective transformation in linguistic, cultural and communicative dimension in line with the Eco-environment of interpreting. After interpreting, the interpreter should conduct post-event penalty to review problems appeared in the interpretation. The interpreter should get familiar with different English accents and constantly acquire extra-linguistic knowledge. Moreover, the interpreter should use symbols as simple as possible to record the whole meaning of the source language to assist short-term memory. It turns out that Eco-translatology provides deep and practical guidance to this report.
